Sight Word BUMP
Each child will need 10 unifix cubes of different colors to play the
game. One person rolls 2 dice and adds the numbers together. Then
he/she finds the sight word that is by that sum. If he/she can read the
word, he/she puts one unifix cube on it. Each player takes a turn. As
game continues, if a player rolls the same sum again and can read the
word, he/she can stack another cube on top of the first one to “lock” it.
As long as a number is not “locked,” another player can “bump” the
cube off if he/she rolls that sum and can read the word. The winner is
the player to use all cubes first. If playing as a group, the winner is
the person with the most “locked” words.
