Proposed Center for Philippine Integrative Medicine: Health Center and Research Facility Complex

Health is the primary concern of people and health care is the significant matter to health agencies. In line with the medical tourism in the Philippines, our country is thriving to be the sanctuary for health and wellness globally. A new approach to health care seeks to combine the best of both Traditional and Western Medicine known as Integrative Medicine. The proposed development of Center for Philippine Integrative Medicine: Health Center and Research Facility Complex. It is an interdisciplinary center for Integrative Medicine where it comes together on three important levels: research, education, and patient care. The General Classification of Use / Character of Occupancy is Group C (Education and Recreation) Division C-2 that has the principal use of health clinics and an accessory use of medical center together with scientific, cultural, and academic research facility. The building design focuses on creating a healing environment that is in harmony with the philosophy of Integrative Medicine which also integrates spaces and its functions of both Western and Traditional Medicine. The environment reflects openness to diverse healing systems contributes to the well-being of patients, practitioners, and staff and provides a supportive environment for research and education.The development has objectives of designing it that can give optimal healing to every patient and a facilitative learning environment and to be able to blend Western and Traditional Medicine through the help of Architecture. Others are to train and educate even the non-health professionals about this type of health care that will engage them to seek care not cure principle.
