• Rule 10-3-7 – intentionally or flagrantly contacting opponent when ball is dead.
• You must rule is such contact is flagrant.
Unsporting Foul Rule 4-19-14/10-3-6
• Non-contact
• Unfair, unethical, dishonorable conduct
• Behavior not in accordance with spirit of fair play
• Taunting or baiting
• Disrespectfully addressing or contacting official

Travel RuleRule 4 Section 44
Traveling - moving a foot or feet in any direction in excess of prescribed limits while holding the ball.
Keys to Ruling a Travel Violation
1. Know and understand the rule.
2. Immediately identify the pivot foot.
3. Do not be a spectator as Trail on post plays.
4. Establish space/angles between you and the player.
5. Count the number of steps.
Three Absolutes
1. Player cannot travel without holding the ball.
2. Player cannot travel while dribbling.
3. You must know and not guess!
Travel Review
Play #1 Player catches the ball with both feet in the air.
Play #2 Player dribbles and gains control with both feet in the air.
Play #3 Player dribbles and gains control with 1 or 2 feet on the floor.
Play #4 Player gives head fake/jab step combination.
Strange Travel Rulings
1. Player lying on stomach – cannot roll over but can attempt try, pass, start a dribble or call time-out.
2. Player lying on back – cannot roll over or get up but can rise to a seated position.

3. Player diving for the ball – can slide and cover a lot of floor space, as long as his/her momentum is moving the player along the floor.
4. Player standing & holding the ball:
- cannot touch the floor with knee or any other part of the body other than hand or foot.

• Be consistent
• Increase focus on post play travel
• Understand when Jump Stop is/is not legal
• If it looks funny it must be a travel!
