1 Primary Generalist Stream Overall program must not exceed 120 units @ 1000 level, so be careful in your elective and discipline depth study course choices.

I am unsure what to do, or I want to follow my interests and have maximum choice in what I study. I want to be able to tell future employers that I have a balance of specialist depth studies and broad skills gained from studying a variety of different areas.

2 Discipline Major Must take all courses in SAME discipline (ie. follow same code: HIST, ENGL, SOCA, etc.) with max. 20 units @ 1000 level, and min. 40 units @ 3000 level. Must take 50 units in Sem 2, Yr 3.

I enjoyed my discipline depth studies and want to continue in the same area. I might become an academic in one of the Humanities and Social Science disciplines or I just love studying in my discipline depth study area and am thinking about applying to do Honours in this discipline (a fifth year) after I graduate from the BTeach(P)/BA program.

I have a high standard of academic literacy and would like to be challenged academically at a high level by my degree. I like the idea of generating and conducting my own research project in an area of personal or academic interest, under the mentorship of a qualified researcher. I am considering going on to do a Research Higher Degree (such as a PhD) in Education, and would like to be competitive for postgraduate programs and scholarships.

4 Secondary English Teaching Specialisation Please contact your Program Convenor to discuss this option and apply 2nd Semester, 1st Year. A high standard of literacy is essential. Must take 50 units during Sem 2, Yr 3.

I want to be qualified to teach Primary (K-6) and English (K-12) to provide me with: (1) an excellent understanding of child and adolescent literacy and language instruction; and (2) an option to apply for permanent employment in BOTH Primary and Secondary schools.

However, your electives can also be any non-restricted course in the University, if you meet the assumed knowledge requirements.
