INIZIALE
An Assessment Test of the Initial Competences (VPI) is a compulsory test for all those who are enrolled in the 1st
year of the Psychology programme - delivered in English - that is part of the undergraduate programme Scienze
e tecniche psicologiche [Psychological Sciences and Techniques] whatever the diploma they obtained in their
secondary school. Students coming from other undergraduate or graduate programmes or single-cycle
programmes are exonerated from VPI for enrollment in the 1st year as long as they have already achieved the
minimum ECTS credits on the training activities identified by the Faculty*
The test is held online and lasts 25 minutes. It consists of 20 questions in the thematic area of Text
comprehension (including logic) in English.
The student can only try the test once: for students that will not sit the test the result is negative. The
date of the test is assigned on enrollment and it is possible to change it through the personal I -Catt
page.
The test will be passed with at least 50% +1 correct answers, calculated over the whole subject area.
Otherwise an Additional Training Obligation (OFA) of Knowledge of the Italian language and Text
comprehension will be assigned.
The OFA lasts 12 hours. It is necessary to attend at least 2/3 of the lessons and pass the mandatory final
test within the 1st year of the course. In case of a negative result, the student will be contacted by the
Orientation and Tutoring Office, through the group tutoring for methodological support.
* More information is available on the personal I-Catt page and on the check the initial preparation
internet page.
