Hear first-hand

When I began as an intern at Malaysia Airlines, I felt really prepared. At Stamford, I learned skills

in the classroom, I learned real-world insights from guest speakers, got hands-on experience during

field trips – they allowed me to start contributing on day one of my internship. I know how to prepare

fuel, communicate with the pilot and most importantly, how to handle customers.

I’m really happy I am able to apply my knowledge.

Ms. Alissra Mudnurak

Airline Business Management Student

Stamford uniquely prepared me to go into the airline business because we saw how

companies worked. We did 480 hours of internship. Some of the most useful things

I learned at Stamford that helped me succeed at PTT were; marketing and presentation

skills, research and English. English especially – it is used around the world by people

in the airline industry- actually, in all industries. The extra-curricular opportunities at

Stamford also helped me a lot in my career.

Optimum class sizes allow me to focus on my students. I ask my students to start writing

marketing plans very early….towards the end of the three- year course they are already

fluent at writing marketing plans and understanding the enire marketing concept.

Students learn from many case studies and business challenges to develop their problem

solving skills and creativity. I always send students to participate in marketing competitions -

it’s okay if they don’t win. The best thing for students is when they learn to solve real business

challenges.

LogisticsManagement

Program Highlights

Logistics Management is a growing industry

and offers amazing career opportunities;

opportunity for travel and rapid professional

growth and the ASEAN region is at the center

of it all.

With the coming ASEAN economic community

set to go into effect in 2015, students in this program

will develop a global perspective and understand the

factors of regional and local freight transport and

distribution when goods flow through among

neighboring countries more freely.

The program is designed to develop

graduates with skills and knowledge

that are demanded by employers, e.g.

quantitative assessment technology on

how to optimize freight in circulation,

which often plays a significant role in a

company’s profit and overall success.

Students learn from real world

professionals, obtaining real-world

insights while hearing first-hand

about company needs and objectives.

Hear first-hand Logistics is here to stay. It’s a rewarding industry that will never become obsolete and

will always be in demand. I have been working in logistics related industries for the

past 30 years. Many people are not aware that logistics is actually part of most businesses,

and part of almost every industry. In today’s modern business world, graduates need to have

the skill set required by employers in order to advance in the careers - the most important

qualities to develop are logical thinking skills and English.

The industry is more complex today than in the past and will become more complex

in the future due to the impacts of globalization -- graduates need to prepare themselves.

Finance and Banking Management

Program HighlightsThe Finance and Banking Management

Program seeks to develop a broad

understanding of managerial,

financial, legal, and economic concepts

that enable students to be up-to-date

about current practices in finance and

general management.

Students have access to guest speakers

and lecturers - working professionals

from the finance field such as

marketing, corporate and wholesale

banking and in other parts of the

financial sector, including capital

markets and treasury management.Students in Finance and Banking

Management benefit from a business

internship placement with a bank or

other financial institution in this

fast-growing industry.

Stamford International University 19

The current job market for financial institutions requires candidates with up-to-date knowledge of new financial

products as well as management skills. In Thailand, students need CFA (Certification of Financial Analyst) for

positions related to the SEC. We are always looking for graduates who have problem solving and analytical skills,

presentation skills, and for people who can think systematically. We pay for the brain, not for labor.
