Sleeves:On one side, place markers 4 (4, 4) down from shoulder seam on front and back. Usinglarger needles, Pick up and knit 36 (38, 40) sts between markers.

Row 2 (RS): * P 1, K 1, rept from * to end of row

Rept these two rows for pattern.

Continue in pattern, decr 1 st at beg and end of every 4th (6th, 6th) row 6 times 24 (26, 28) sts. Change to

Directions:With smaller circular needle, CO 68 sts. Join into a circle, being careful not to twist your sts.

Round 1: * K 1, P 1, rept from * to end of round.

Round 2: * P 1, K 1, rept from * to end of round.

Repeat these two rounds until piece measures 1.

Change to larger needles and work in St St for 3.

Shape crown: Change to double pointed needles.

Round 1: * K 7, dbl dcr, K 7, rept from * 3 times more.Round 2 and all even numbered rounds: K

Round 3: * K 6, dbl dcr, K 6, rept from * 3 times more.






Round 15: Dbl dcr 4 times 4 sts remain.

Transfer these sts to one needle and work knitted cord as follows: * K 4 sts. Do not turn. Slide sts back toother end of needle, draw yarn across back of sts, and rept from *.

When cord measures 2, break yarn and draw through all sts. Pull tight and fasten off. Tie an overhand knot

Cuff:Loosely CO 20 sts. Arrange evenly on three needles and join into a circle, being careful not to twistyour sts.

K 1 round.

Next round: * YO, K2tog, rept from * to end of round.

Divide for Heel: K 5. Sl remaining sts on this needle to needle 2 for holding. Turn work. Sl 1, P 9. Move

remaining sts on this needle to needle 2 for holding. You now have 10 (25, 29) sts held on needle 2 for your

instep, and 10 sts to work for your heel flap.Heel Flap:(worked back and forth in rows)

Repeat these two rows 4 times more, then work row 1 again 11 rows.

Turn Heel:Row 1: Sl 1, p 5, p2tog, p 1, turn

Row 3: Sl 1, p 4, p2tog, turn

Row 4: Sl 1, k 4, k2tog - 6 sts remain.

Pick up Sts for Gussets: Continuing with the needle holding your heel sts, pick up and knit 6 sts down theleft side of heel flap. Using a second needle, K 10 sts at instep. Using a third needle, pick up and knit 6

stitches up the right side of heel flap. K 3 sts to center of heel. 28 sts. Beginning of round is at center of

heel. K one round.Decrease Gussets:
