• Born on February 6,1895 in Baltimore, Maryland

• Real name is George Herman Ruth

Personal Background

• One of eight children• Only Babe and his sister

Mamie survived the other six passed away

• When he was seven years old his parents sent him away to St, Mary’s Industrial school for boys because he became a troublemaker to the neighborhood and they were never there to make him mind

• Before he was found as a major league baseball player he worked for Baltimore Orioles

• Babe was founded by his boss Jack Dunn

• When Babe was 19 years old Jack Dunn became his legal guardian

• After the Baltimore Orioles Babe went and played with the Boston Red Sox

• Babe’s first season playing for Boston he fell in love with a waitress named Helen and later married her

• Babe had some pretty serious scandals during his baseball career such as staying out late ignoring the team’s curfew and he loved to drink and he slept with a large amount of women and crashed his car a couple of times

Death Information

• In 1946 it was discovered that Babe had malignant tumor in his neck

• On August 16,1948 the cancer took over him and he passed away at age 53

• His body laid in Yankee Stadium the funeral was two days later and over 100,000 people lined up and paid their respects
