The Company

Formed in 1972 we are a specialist civil and structural engineeringconsultancy committed to providing creative and economic designsolutions. We have been involved in over 5000 projects across theUK and internationally including a number that have won awards.

With expertise and experience in all aspects of structuralengineering design, our past and current work covers the design ofnew buildings, refurbishment of existing buildings, as well asstructural investigations and feasibility studies. We always explorethe use of both modern and traditional construction materials andseek to provide sustainable structural solutions in areas of designand construction where we have an influence.

Stuart has over 25 years experienceas a structural engineer and hasworked on some major projectsduring this time at engineer anddirector level.

He brings a personal approach to hiswork and prefers to stay hands onthroughout the life of a project. Hehas overall responsibility for thepractice and has support from askilled and experienced group ofmanagers.

He has worked on projects in allmajor sectors and is familiar with allbuilding typologies. A highly creativeand original design engineer he iskeen to exploit modern constructionpractices wherever possible in orderto improve on value, programme andquality.

Energy efficiency and sustainableengineering are of significantinterest to Stuart and he seeks tointroduce appropriate solutions intohis work where possible.

Chris has been responsible formanaging a number of high profilecivil & structural engineeringprojects, ranging from smallrefurbishments to new multi‐storey,mixed‐use developments, but inparticular large‐scale residential andhotel developments.

Chris has extensive knowledge in thedesign of RC frames and basementsand has a background in ‘valueengineering’ design development.This approach enables him toconsider and offer different solutionsfor key design criteria such asstructural framing plans andmaterials, construction methodologyand sequencing, temporary worksand structural waterproofing.

His broad understanding of theseissues coupled with an appreciationof their influences on Architecturaland other design disciplines enablesChris to deliver efficient, cost‐effective, coordinated, and buildablestructural solutions.
