애기봉 평화생태공원Aegibong Peak Peace Eco Park병자호란 때 끌려간 평안감사를 그리워하다 죽은 기생 애기의 전설이 담긴 곳으로 강 하나를 사이에 두고 오가지 못하는 이산가족의 한과 같다고 하여 애기봉이라 명명되었다. 현재 전시관 시설을 전망대와 전시관, 편의시설을 갖춘 평화생태공원으로 새롭게 조성할 예정이다.

The name of this mountain peak, Aegibong, is originated from the story of a gisaeng (i.e. female artist trained to entertain her guests with songs and dances) named Aegi who pined away and died after the separation from her lover, governor of Pyeongan who was taken hostage by the Manchu forces during their invasion of Korea in 1636. The tragedy of Aegi had often been compared with that of the families torn by the Korean War (1950-53) and hence the name of the peak. The peak is planned to be developed into a park focused on peace and ecological health complete with the facilities for exhibition, observation and menities.(Access to the peak is limited until the completion of the park in 2019.)

김포장릉 Jangneung Royal Tomb, Gimpo유네스코 세계문화유산으로 등재된 조선 왕릉으로 16대 인조대왕의 생부인 원종과 부인 인헌왕후 구씨를 모신 곳이다. 능 입구에는 홍살문이 있고 능 아래는 제사를 모시는 재실이 있어 영조와 정조가 매년 행차하여 제사를 모셨다. 능 주위가 공원처럼 꾸며져 있어 휴일이면 과거의 숨결을 느끼며 조용히 휴식을 얻을 수 있는 나들이 장소로 제격이다.

Jangneung is a royal tomb of the Joseon dynasty where the parents of King Injo (r. 1623-1649), who were posthumously invested with the titles of King Wonjong and Queen Inhyeon, are buried. There are in the tomb precincts a red arrow gate (hongsalmun) and the shrine hall (jaesil) and King Yeongjo and King Jeongjo visited the tomb annually to pay their respect to the royal ancestors. The tomb is now regarded as a public park visited by those seeking after rest and refreshment through its historical background.

relishing global reputation, including Giovanni Anselmo. The sculptures are exhibited along a forest walk path which is one of the park’s main attractions together with others designed to provide venues for various cultural and leisure activities for youths such as sledding and zip-lining and

youth training center.

김포함상공원 Gimpo Marine Park1944년 프랑스남부상륙작전을 시작으로 오키나와 상륙작전, 월남전 등에 참전하고 지난 2006년에 퇴역한 상륙함을 선실함상 체험공간인 운봉함으로 재탄생시켜 조성한 수도권 유일의 함상공원이다. 함상 스토리라인을 따라 다양한 전시 관람 및 체험활동을 할 수 있고 함정외부 공원에는 항공기, 상륙정, 수륙양용차 등의 다양한 조형물과 야외무대가 조성되어 있다.

This marine park, the only example of its kind in Korea’s capital area, was established when the landing ship, known as Unbong among Korean people, retired from service in 2006 after active service for landing operations in France (1944), Okinawa and Vietnam. Visitors to the park are guided to experience the historic events the battleship endured through recounted stories presented along the tour routes. Visitors are also given an opportunity to browse military airplanes, landing vessels, amphibious vehicles and other exhibits and watch theatrical performances held at the outdoor stage.

문수산성Munsusanseong Fortress1694년(숙종20)에 외적을 막고 강화도 방어를 위해 쌓은 산성으로 1866년(고종3) 병인양요 때 프랑스군과 치열한 격전을 벌인 곳이다. 최근 병인양요 당시 군사작전에서 지휘자가 적의 동태를 살피고 명령을 내리던 곳인 장대(將臺)가 복원되어 역사적 가치를 더하고 있으며, 4km에 이르는 성곽을 따라 걸으면서 역사이야기와 자연경관을 느낄 수 있다.

This fortress built in 1694 to defend Ganghwado Island against foreign invaders became a historic battlefield where the Korean naval forces fought fiercely against the French navy what invaded the area in 1866. It has recently had its commander’s post (jangdae) restored and completed a 4-kilometer-long trail for those exploring the turbulent modern history and scenic beauty of the area.

덕포진Deokpojin Fort천혜의 지형을 이용해 설치한 군영 덕포진은 신미양요(1871년)와 병인양요(1866년)때 서구열강과 치열하게 싸웠던 격전지로 역사적 가치와 유물사적 의미를 지닌 곳이다. 김포평화누리길을 통해 걸어서 방문할 수 있으며, 포대 모습과 파수청, 뱃사공 손돌의 전설이 깃든 손돌목과 전시관을 관람할 수 있다.

Deokpojin Fort is a historic site where the Korean coastal guards had to fight fiercely against the US and French naval forces that attempted to invade Korea in 1871 and 1866 respectively. Visitors to the historic site can reach it through the Gimpo Pyeonghwa Nuri Trail and see archaeological remains related with the artillery battery, military barracks and Sondolmok and exhibition room related with the legend of the bowman Sondol.

한강야생조류생태공원 & 에코센터Hangang Wildlife Sanctuary Eco Park & Eco Center

김포한강신도시 동쪽 한강변에 위치한 우리나라 최초의 야생조류생태공원으로써 약17만평 규모의 공간에서 계절별 동식물과 야생조류를 탐조할 수 있다. 공원 안에서 운영 중인 에코 센터에서는 전시관, 영상관 등 교육시설과 전망대가 조성되어 있어 생태환경 교육명소로 자리매김 하고 있다.

The Korea’s first of its kind located in the lower reaches of the Hangang River east riverside of the Gimpo Hangang New City, this wildlife sanctuary eco park (approx. 17 million pyeong) provides visitors an opportunity to watch wild animals, birds in particular, and plants that come and go according seasonal changes. The Eco Center in the park contains educational facilities such as exhibition and video rooms as well as an observation deck which make it a great resource for the ecological and environmental education.

김포 평화누리길은 대명항~문수산~애기봉~전류리포구까지 총39km, 세 개의 코스로 조성된 평화·안보 트래킹 명소다. 각 코스마다 김포의 아름다운 자연경관과 역사문화를 만날 수 있다.

Gimpo Pyeonghwa Nuri Trail, which extends for 39km from Daemyeonghang Port via Munsusan Mountain and Aegibong Peak to Jeollyuri Port, is well-known for “"peaceful and safe"” trekking. It consists of three separately themed courses that allow trekkers to encounter not only the area’s beautiful natural scenery but also the history and culture of Gimpo.
