It gives me immense pleasure to release the 1st Newsletter of Dr.D.YPatil B School.

The first two months of the new academic session 2018-20 were full of activities

and strategic planning.

We inaugurated the PGDM batch 2018-20 with great fun and flair

on 16th June2018. Senior management stalwarts, likes of which

included the Managing Director of Weikfield Foods and Vice

President of Markets and Markets graced the occasion and

addressed the students.

To keep up with the ever-changing industry trends, wecreated the Business Advisory

Committee comprising of Senior Corporate leaders to help us in making and delivering the

real aspects of management to our students and bridging the gap between the Corporate

and the Academia. The meeting was held on 23rd June and we could brainstorm a lot of good

ideas.

We also inaugurated the E-Cell of Dr.D.YPatil B School. The E-Cell was inaugurated by none

other thanMr. R Ramanan, Director of Atal Innovation Mission, NitiAyog, Govt of India.

We have started working on Social Entrepreneurship projects in collaboration with

Aquakraft Inc.

I am sure with the support of all well wishers and God’s grace,ourinstitute will excel and

will deliver the expected.

The Induction 2018-20 batch

The Induction Program for batch 2018-20 was held on 16th June 2018 with senior leaders

from the Industry. We had Mr. VibhuDiwan, Director - HR ;Neilsen India, Ms. Deepti

Deshpande, HR Head; Barclays, Mr. Atul Marne, Director Project;, Kisan Forum Pvt.

Ltd., Mr. Subhasis Chatterjee Managing Director & Country Head, Allweiler India, Circor

Industrial Group, Mr. Ashwini Malhotra, Managing Director of Weikfield Foods Pvt. Ltd,

Mr. Christopher Jason; Associate Director,Markets& Markets.

The delegates open heartedly interacted with students and guided them on how they can

leverage maximum benefit by being a student of Dr. D.Y Patil B-School in these coming

two years. They also gave them an idea on how they can network and create their

owndatabase which can help them in their future corporate journey.

The Business Advisory Council’s meeting was held on 23rd June 2018 at Dr.D.Y.Patil B-

School with senior leaders from the industry, on how to add value to ourbusiness

program and make it corporate ready. A lot of valuable ideas were generated. We had

There was a brain storming session and the key point which all agreed upon were to have

an Innovation Cell to generate new ideas and to implement existing concepts.It was

suggested that risk and mitigation,foreign language,cross cultural sensitization , data

interpretation and handling of data to be included in the syllabus , International Tieups

and various other important items.

Entrepreneurship Cell and Social Project in collaboration with Aquakraft

Mr. R.Ramanan,Mission Director, Atal Innovation Mission, NitiAayog, Govt of India,

inaugurated Dr.D.Y. Patil B-School’s Entrepreneurship Cell and Incubatorin collaboration

with Aquakraft, SWACHH LAB and SWACCH ACCELERATOR FOR SOCIAL

IMPACT, a social Incubator on 7th July 2018. Mr. Ramanan spoke about Government

initiatives and how our student’s can become entrepreneur’s taking all help from the E-

Cell.

Mahabaleshwar Outbound

We, at Dr.D.Y.Patil B-School,believe that learning is not just confined to classrooms.

Keeping this thought in mind, we organized an Industrial Visit to Mapro Cold Storage at

Wai,Maharashtra, which is capable of pre-cooling 20 MT fresh fruits and produce

chocolate. In the initial phase of the visit, students were shown few movie clips which

showcased the history of Mapro as well as well as the current state of the art at the factory.

Students then proceeded to visit the storage and the processing unit of Mapro and were

guided by experts. The educational visit was followed with visit to Lingmala falls and

Elephant Head Point,Pachgani.

CORPORATE LECTURE SERIES

➢ Guest Lecture on Marketing

A guest lecture on Marketingwas conducted on 7th July’18 by Mr. Bharatbhushan Kolhe,

Regional Head,Panasonic Mobile. The topics covered were 4 P’s of Marketing, job

opportunities in marketing field andskills required to develop as a marketing professional.

The session was interactive, innovative and practical based.

➢ Guest Lecture on Goal Setting & Happiness

An interesting session on Goal Setting & Happiness was conducted by Mr. ShaileshMalu

on 14thJuly’18. The topics covered were attention, need, job satisfaction and visualization.

The session was motivating and inspiring.

➢ Guest Lecture on How to Become Rich and Happy

On 21st July, an interesting session on How to BecomeRich and Happywas

conducted by Mr. Ashish Bhave, Ashish Bhave’s Academy of Wealth Pvt. Ltd. He

delivered an interesting talk on how to become successful, goal setting, positivity

andpower of subconscious Mind.

➢ Guest Lecture on Opportunities Unlimited

A power-packed session on Opportunities Unlimitedwas conducted on 28th July

2018 by Mr. RangacharyuluKomanduri,General Manager,Sales and Business

Operation at Audi. The topics covered were importance of having role models,

goal setting, power of execution, situationalleadership.

VALUE-ADDITION SESSIONS

➢ DMIT Test

Dermatoglyphics Multiple Intelligence Test (DMIT) is a scientific study associated with

finger print patterns and lobes which helps in understanding a unique inborn potential and

personality. It helps in analysing individual’s potential and personality type. It is based on

neuroscience, genetics,dermatoglyphics, psychology and embryology. DMIT was

conducted in the first month of induction program , June’18 by Dr.Ankush Agarwal from

Mind Scan Education Technology Pvt. Ltd. which helped students realise their strength

and weaknesses. They were counselled by the experts to work on them and effectively use

their personality to luxuriate their career and personal development.

➢ Specialization Workshop

To choose a specialisation in any Management Program is a big decision which ultimately

decides the career of the student. Keeping this in mind, a unique workshop was designed

and conducted by one of our renownedvisiting faculty, Prof.Deepak Solanki on

26thJune’18. This workshop included various set of questionnaires and presentation of the

current scenario of the industry, explaining in detail the job profiles offered in the

individual sector. This helped the students to take a decision in the choice of

specialization.

➢ Resume Development Workshop

Norman Schwarzkopf has rightly said – “The more you sweat in peace, the less you bleed

in war”. We,at Dr.D.Y.Patil B-School,also believe this and we want our students to be

well updated and well prepared for the interviews even before the placement season starts.

For this endeavour, The Resume development workshop was conducted on 27thJune’18 by

our Deputy Director Academics, Prof.VishalWadajkar. He guided students regarding the

do’s and dont’s while making a resume.

➢ Handwriting Analysis Workshop

Handwriting analysis is an effective and reliable indicator of personality and

behaviour. So is a useful tool for many organizational processes.For example:

recruitment, interviewing, selection, team-building, counselling and career-

planning. Keeping this in mind, an interesting workshop was conductedon

7thAugust’2018 byMs.PoojaPatil and Ms.KavitaDeshmukh from Renovation

Management Consultants.

➢ Workshop On Effective Communication

Communication is a vital life skill. Developing your communication skills can

benefit you in all aspects of your life, from your professional life to social

gatherings. The importance of the same was shared with the students through an

interactive workshop conducted by Mike Jockey,Bandya from 93.5 Big FM on

27thJune’2018.

➢ Zumba Workshop

A person who is fit is capable of living life to its fullest. Physical and

mental fitness play very important roles in your life. Keeping up with the Fitness

First mantra, a Zumba workout session was conducted by ZIN Gargi which got the

students grooving on the latest beats.

➢ Show Your Talent

The 10-days Induction Program culminated with a fun-filled Show Your Talent Program,

where the students showcased their talent in singing, dancing, mimicry, fashion show etc.
