Andrea Perrone is from Porto Alegre, southern Brazil. She plays a distinctive, percussive
acoustic guitar, rich in harmonies. A self-taught guitarist, she easily mixes several musical
styles into her playing, being inspired by the traditional Brazilian Music to Folk, as well as by
Flamenco, Blues and Jazz. The highlights of her work are the use of alternative tunings, which
create colors and textures to her solo guitar playing, as well as techniques used to play other
instruments to her performance. She also writes at Violão e Ponto, a Brazilian website
specialized in Solo Acoustic Guitar.
