There have been many excursions, overnight camps, school events, sporting events and visitors to our school. The wonderful thing I wanted to share with you is that after all these events, I always hear positive feedback about how respectful and engaged Boambee students are. From teachers, camp organisers, visitors, business owners, bus drivers and members of the public, they always have something great to say about how our students conduct themselves on excursions and at school events. The PBL message of being Safe, being Respectful and being a Learner is obviously working and our teachers and students should be very proud of their efforts. Well done to the PBL team, teachers and Stage 3 leaders for driving this message and well done to all of our students for representing our school in such a positive way. I am looking forward to more positive reports next term. In Term 4 we welcome back Mrs Wigg and Ms Holden. Mrs Wigg will be returning to KW and Ms Holden will be returning 3 days a week and working in a range of classrooms. Thank you to Mr Sharkey who did a wonderful job looking after KW while Mrs Wigg was on maternity leave. Have a wonderful holiday break! Carolyn Jones - Relieving Principal PBL Our PBL focus for Week 9 and 10 has been: Being SAFE by being in the RIGHT place. The lessons taught by our Stage 3 leaders went over the expectations and rules around: - Being SAFE in the morning - Being SAFE at lunch and recess - Being SAFE when moving around the school The children were also shown a map of our school with the correct paths to follow when moving around the school. Kinder Transition and Parent Expo This will be held on Wednesday, 17th October from 9.15am until 11am. The children will participate in activities in the kinder classrooms. Parents are invited to attend an information session in our school hall. The school will provide crunch and sip for your child on this day. Year 1 and 2 Timbertown Excursion On Friday, 13th September, Stage 1 went on an excursion to Timbertown. We were lucky enough to experience horse and cart rides, a ride on the steam train, a walk through an old saw mill, as well as looking through the old school and church. We also got to play with old wooden toys, which we all loved. We even got to pan for gold! Everyone had an excellent day and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. A very big thank you to Ms Stacy Holden for organising the day.

Year 3 Arrawarra Fishtraps Excursion Last Wednesday Year 3 ventured all the way up to Arrawarra Headland. We met Uncle Mark Flanders at the fishtraps. He told us all about the fishtraps and how they have been there for thousands of years. He said when it was a blue moon tribes from all around the area would come and meet and wait for the dolphins to round up the fish into the fishtraps then they would have a massive feast. That’s why Arrawarra is known as “The Meeting Place.” After exploring the fishtraps Uncle Mark then took us up the beach and we painted ourselves with some coloured ochre. He also told us some interesting Dreamtime stories. The students were captivated by his wealth of knowledge. In the afternoon we had a fun play at Woolgoolga followed by some tasty hot chips. The students behaviour was amazing which made it a very enjoyable excursion for everyone involved.
