2012 COMMENTS: I have just retired (June 1 2012)from a forty six year career in the

construction industry, constructing water and wastewater treatment facilities. I have, in a small way, participated in the clean up of all major N. E. rivers. After living many years in ME, VT, MA and Ohio, I am back living in the south end of Concord.

I've been an active outdoorsman participating in rock and ice climbing, whitewater kayaking and winter mountaineering. I ran two marathons in Portland, ME and Montreal. I own a thirty six foot sailboat that I keep in Rockland, ME and cruise the N. E. coast from Pennobscot bay to Buzzards Bay. I helped a friend sail his boat from Bermuda to Long Island Sound. I have skied every winter for fifty-four years. I make frequent ski trips to UT, CO and British Columbia. I have traveled throughout the US and Europe. I appeared in the movie "Southie" starring Donnie Wahlberg and Rose McGowan.

I have three adult daughters, all doing well. It's been a active, satisfying life. Fair winds and following seas to all my classmates.

2012 COMMENTS: Following graduation, I traveled to Alaska and worked for the

University of Alaska in Fairbanks. 1964 enlisted in the Army Helicopter maintenance; 1966 Warrant Officer Flight Training

Helicopter; 1967 Vietnam and back to Alaska; 1968 Marriage to Pat; 1969 Discharged from the Army; 1970 Flew commercial helicopters in Alaska; 1972 State of Alaska employed as an Alaska State Trooper, stationed in Sitka, Anchorage, Bethel, Fairbanks, Nome, and Aniak, AK. I have worked every type of criminal case during my years. I also fly a state Cessna 185 in Aniak as my patrol vehicle, along with a boat, snow machine and pickup truck. Retired in September of 1994. Pat and I divorced in 1995. I left Alaska and traveled to the east in a new truck picking up a 5th wheel trailer in Oregon. I met a family friend when in MA, Carolyn, and traveled back to Alaska.

We spent the summer on the Kuskokwim River in a Cabin built in 1947. It was owned by the Magistrate who was the judge in my cases in Aniak. River Boat was our primary mode of transport in summer. Travel in winter was by snow machine. We stayed from August thru March heating with wood and no inside plumbing.

Carolyn and I were married on the shores of the River at a Homestead in September 1996. Our home was in Stockbridge, MA. For eight years, I worked as an FAA A&P mechanic and pilot in Canaan, CT rebuilding antique Airplane in the winter. We traveled in the summers with our pickup and Camper. In 2002, I was invited to fly for an Elephant project in Africa. Flying in Kruger National Park in South Africa and in Northern Botswana. The experience was super; Jeff Corwin did a film segment for Animal Planet he was a wild and crazy guy to work with. In 2005, we bought a 25ft Cruiser boat and traveled 800 miles on the Erie Canal, Lake Ontario, The St Lawrence River to Montreal and down to the Richelieu River and Canal into Lake Champlain. Continuing into the Champlain Canal system and Returning to our starting point in Waterford, NY. In late 2005, we traveled to the Maritime Provinces of Canada Labrador, Newfoundland, Nova Scotia, driving 5,000 miles, a great trip. In early 2007, I worked on a book involving my Trooper years in the Bush of Alaska.

In 2007, I had an idea for a small business about mounting ½ inch cross sections of Huey Helicopter rotor blades on wood plaques. www.heliplaque.com was conceived. The Primary source for sales would be to Vietnam Veterans involved with Helicopters and Law Enforcement helicopter operations. The business was doing ok but, my wife was not a happy camper. Carolyn and I divorced in 2010, I moved to North AL for something different purchasing a home and building a shop for my equipment I knew no one in AL. I am slowly looking for a lady friend with mutual interests to live and travel with. Mike Royce’s First cousin Everett P. Runnells from Concord was in my Helicopter Unit in Vietnam and was killed in action 27 August 1966. Rest in peace Everett!

In 2012, My sister Karen G. Bartlett class of 1965 CHS moved to Courtland, AL. I still make the Plaques but closed the business and operate it as a hobby out of my new home in Decatur AL.

I was selected as Citizen of the Year for Courtland, AL. I had chosen to do many volunteer things for the town, clean the Historic Cemetery grave stones with a pressure washer. Yes, there are 7 Yankee’s graves the soldiers

were killed during a battle at the town railroad trestle during the Civil War. I got the towns Clock working, worked on the fountain on the green. Many cleaning projects.

On the first of July 2017, I met Robbie we each had an instant attraction to the other. She and I are age mates, she is an avid Square and Ballroom dancer, this is going to be our hobby. I am learning Square Dancing and more! We will board the 2018 Country Music Cruse in February to the Caribbean. In October, she and I bought a new home in Decatur, AL we will move in soon.

Son Daughter GRANDCHILDREN: Granddaughter 2002 COMMENTS: (note: this letter was received from Tom after Brenda called Dick Frambach to check on Dick's new address. Dick asked if Tom

was coming to the reunion and Brenda told him that our information on him said, “deceased: Vietnam, 1966." Brenda then wrote to Tom and received the following replay.)

I always thought I didn't hear from the class became I wasn't very popular

back then. But no, I'm not dead. The closest I ever got to Vietnam was 200 miles south on an aircraft carrier bristling with planes loaded with missiles, bombs, and cannons. The North Vietnamese didn't have much of a navy and not enough planes to come 200 miles for a fight, so I really wasn't in too much danger of getting shot at. My life has been mostly like my high school years. Just plain and ordinary, not much to speak of. I joined the Navy right out of high school. I got out 4 years later and stayed out for 3 and a half yeas and went back in. I started out as an aircontrolman, but because of a hearing loss due to tinnitus, I had to change my job and spent the rest of my career as a photographer. I stayed for 20 years. While on Guam in 1972, I married my wife. (Well, she wasn't my wife until I married her.)

We have two children, a son, 26 years old. He is married and has a 5 year

old daughter. We also have a daughter and she is 25. Single career woman, not interested in settling down yet.

After the Navy, we moved to Wichita, Kansas, where my wife is from. I took

on a second career as a detention deputy for the Sedgwick County Sheriff and will celebrate my 15th year in August. My son is a detention deputy also. I was awarded the bronze medal for meritorious duty for saving the life of an inmate that was trying to hang himself.

My daughter lives in Indianapolis, Indiana, working for her best friend. She and her husband own a property management company and have quite a business. My daughter is their right hand woman and she has offered me a job when I get tired of the jail. I have recently found out that I will be retired from this job on the 21st of December, 2003 and have duly made notice to those interested that I fully intend to move to Indianapolis to work for my daughter.

My wife is a teacher and has a masters degree in linguistics. She teaches

English as a second language to kids that are new to the US and need to have some English proficiency to be able to survive in the school setting. She is in full agreement with me on moving to Indiana. She misses her daughter. They are best of friends and it was hard for her when she moved.

Well, for a dead person, I think I have been pretty active for the last 36

years. Although I won't be able to make it to the reunion, I appreciate you writing

to me. I hope you let the rest of the class know that I haven't gone anywhere, I'm still here kicking and screaming.

Our son, Dennis, is also in the Navy and just received a Bronze Star for his work in Saudi Arabia as an E.O.D. Technician, disposing of bombs and mines in the water. He and his wife, Renee, live in Virginia Beach. Steven is a manager of a supermarket in Gales Ferry, Connecticut. Erika recently got married to a sailor also stationed in Connecticut named Steve. 2012 Comments: Unfortunately, I didn't plan so well, so will miss the reunion.

After graduating UNH in 1967, I spent three years in the U.S. Army. Married Judy Jackson, went to grad school, and began teaching elementary school. Later became principal, retired after 30 years.

Spend time now with grandchildren, trying to stay off the deceased list by being a gym rat. We all hike Monadnock frequently, and still manage to crawl up and down the Whites, every so often. Please tell Eddy Breslin (if he's not too busy taking his drivers test over again) his political views were correct, I've been a convert since 1976. Hi to Curvy Meservy and David Penhale. Monique, please forgive me.

2002 COMMENTS: I am the luckiest man in the world. Hi, to everyone.

2012 COMMENTS: In the past 50 years since graduating from CHS life has been good to me and my family. I married Margie (Hayes-CHS ‘64) in 1968 and we settled in the South End of Concord. We’re still there! We have one son, Chris (CHS’89). I have been involved in the Hayes family business (NH Distributors) for 44 years. I’ve had the luxury of being able to slowly ease into retirement and I’m looking forward to taking that final step. Our son Chris works there along with two cousins. It’s gratifying to see the family business transition down to the next generation.

I have been happily involved in many groups and organizations over time that include Concord Boys and Girls Club, Concord Youth Hockey, Greater Concord Chamber of Commerce and Concord Hospital where I am still a member of the Board of Trustees and the Trust Board. I have greatly enjoyed my association with all of these organizations. I enjoy golf, walking, reading and being an active grandfather to our three grandchildren.
