VOLUNTEER OF THE MONTH

Patricia (Patty) started out sharing her spirit of volunteerism at the Azusa Senior Center by working in the kitchen on the serving line. When approached with the idea of becoming a home delivered meal driver, she gladly accepted and has been delivering meals for the last 8 months. Patty is a full time student at Cal State Los Angeles and is majoring in Chemistry. Even with her busy schedule, she is never in

too big of a rush to greet and share her beautiful smile with the homebound she delivers to. She genuinely enjoys helping out at the

center. Thank you so very much for all of your help! Patricia

Escobedo

VOLUNTEER OF THE MONTH

Davealynn McCloy has been coming to our center for over 10 years now. She loves to come and work at the coffee corner. Did you know you can get a cup of coffee or tea and a goody for only 50

cents? Besides a good cup of coffee you can get friendly service from Davealynn. She is a very neat, orderly worker and very efficient vol-unteer. Davealynn enjoys visits from her many grandchildren and is a

good grandma. Thank you Davelynn, you’re doing a good job! Davealynn McCloy

Spend the Day at Union Station Thursday, April 10 Fee: $56.00 Leave: 8:15 a.m. – Return: 5:00 p.m.

We arrive at the L.A. Music Center to meet our step-on guide, John Daugh-tery for a fabulous tour of Los Angeles! Our first stop will be into the Hollywood area where you will board the SUBWAY for a one-way ride into Union Station. Once at the station you will go on a walking tour with your tour guide. The station opened in May 1939 as the Los Angeles Union Passenger Terminal, re-placing the older La Grande Station and Central Station. One of a number of union stations built in the early 1900’s, it served trains from the Union Pacific, Santa Fe and Southern Pacific Railways. Then it’s off to lunch at Cole’s Restau-rant. You will have a choice of: A Pas-trami Dip sandwich with coleslaw, a Turkey Dipper with coleslaw, or a Grilled Cheese & Tomato Soup combo. All entrees come with a non-alcoholic beverage. Our last stop today will be at the Petersen Automotive Museum. The museum features exhibits of various types of vehicles along with a Discovery Center for hands-on interactive teach-ing exhibits.
