It may have been a short stretched bondof tutor and student, but one that I willremember as my most favourite. I cansay with certainty that we will keep incontact, and I hope that our paths in theacademic or professional world will crossagain, so I can say with pride she was mytutor and you can say she was my student.
Whatever reasons behind your departure,I am very disheartened to see you leave.I pray that whatever it may be you wantto achieve, by the blessing of Allah thepath to it is made much easier and most comfortable for you. After much thoughtof what I wanted to give you as a pieceof me for you to shelf in a special drawer,and after I had counted the change in mypocket, the best I could think of was thisbook for you.
This book is knowledge about my beliefsand thoughts that have kept me in checkwith who I am, and why I am that personthat overcame the darkest and lowesttimes through my life, and I hope it makesyou smile as much joy and strength mybeliefs gave me. From a junior typographerto a senior one, my typeset decisions willprobably make you cringe, however I willunashamedly going to use the lack of timeas my excuse.
Finola, I curse you with the best ofhappiness and most heartfelt love for yoursupport and kindness in the past 2 years.I can only express through words and thisbook a fraction my gratitude. Shall I cutthe fancy, poetic talk out, and simply say Iwill miss you very much my dear teacher.With much love, your student.

One night a man had a dream.He dreamt he was walking along thebeach with the Lord.
Across the sky flashed scenes from hislife.For each scene he noticed two setsof footprints on the sand.
1 belonged to him, the other to the Lord.
After the last scene flashed before him, he looked back at the footprints andhe noticed only one set.
He noticed that this happened duringthe lowest and saddest times of his life.
This bothered him and he questionedthe Lord.
Lord, you said that once I decided tofollow you, you would walk all the waywith me,But I have noticed during the mosttroublesome times of my life there wereonly one set of footprints.I don't understand why that when Ineeded you most, you deserted me.
The Lord replied,
My precious child, I love you and would never leave you.During your times of trials andsu�ering, where you see only oneset of footprints,those were the times when I hadcarried you in my own arms.
Mula came upon a sad man walking along the road to town.
“What’s wrong? ” he asked.
The man held up a tattered bag and moaned,“All that I own in this wide world barely �lls up into thismiserable, wretched sack.”
“Too bad,” said Mula,and with that, he snatched the bag from the man’s handsand ran down the road with it.
Having lost everything, the man burst into tears,and, more miserable than before, he continued walking.

Meanwhile, Mula quickly ran around the bend and placed theman’s sack in the middle of the road where Mula knew theman would have to come upon it.
When the man saw his bag sitting in the road before him,he laughed with joy, and shouted, “My sack! I thought I’d lost you! ”Watching through the bushes, Mula chuckled. “Well, that’s one way to make someone happy! ”
If in thirst you drink water from a cup,you see God in it.
Those who are not in love with God,will see only their own faces in it.
Your task is not to seek for love, butmerely to seek and find
all the barriers within yourself thatyou have built against it.
You've no idea how hard I've lookedfor a gift to bring you.
Nothing seemed right.
What's the point of bringing gold tothe gold mine, or water to the Ocean.
Everything I came up with was liketaking spices to the Orient.
It's no good giving my heart and mysoul because you already have these.
So I've brought you a mirror.
Look at yourself and remember me.

Tasbeeh :Form of dhikr that involves the repetitiveutterances of words glorifying Allah.
