We now start with Ayah 41 in which Fir’aun is mentioned as a person himself and his nation

the nation which is mentioned in Surah Qamar. For Fir’aun there are only 2 ayahs but these

Here the term qaum is not used but the Aal of Fir’aun and it was not only his family but

everyone believing in the Fir’aun as a god. Fir’aun is a general name used in Egypt but when it

is mentioned in Quran then it refers to the Fir’aun in Musa AS time.

Warners

Musa AS was living within the household of Fir’aun but then a person was killed by him and

he ran away to avoid any repercussions and was away for almost 10 years in Madyan. In

Madyan he had a very tough time and he worked as shepherd, previously he was being served

but there he had to serve others. Later he (AS) was married to one of the daughters of the

person with whom he was living. After serving the required term Musa AS wanted to go back

to his family in Egypt and while going back in the way he had the incident of going to Mount

Tur for finding the fire and there Allah spoke to him and revealed to him that he was chosen

by Allah to be a messenger and that his mission was to go to Fir’aun.

Initially Musa AS was instructed by Allah to go to Fir’aun and politely and softly call him

towards Allah . But even after repeatedly dialogues with Musa AS, Fir’aun did not come to

the right path and insisted on transgression and became more and more arrogant. Finally Allah

sent warning for them which was very painful and terrifying. Allah sent multiple (9)

warnings to Fir’aun to realize his mistakes. In so many Surahs Allah has described the signs

given to Musa AS.

The signs which were given to Musa AS to warn ale Fir’aun, they were:1

1. rod turning in to a snake

2. the radiant hand of Prophet Musa

3. year of drought; less rains and fruits becoming less

4. the flood

Surah Al Qamar Page 4

Surah Qamar is all about Ayahs around us which should make us more to believe in Allah

not like other nations. The nations mentioned in this Surah exceeded their limits, they denied

all the ayahs of Allah and they accused their messengers of being unstable (Astaghfirallah).

Whether good or bad happened to us, this should make us attached to Allah , good is a

mercy of Allah and in bad we know that no one else can remove the bad from us except

Allah so never challenge Allah and be grateful to Him under all circumstances.

What happened to ale fir’aun when they denied all the signs of Allah ? They challenged

Allah and who can challenge Allah except the ignorant or the arrogant ones. Allah

was sending messages and warnings and they were ignoring the signs and were busy in

denying the signs continuously. Allah never accepts arrogance from the human beings and

who said you get the honour by becoming arrogant. The more low we feel in front of Allah

the more loved we are in front of Allah but only in front of Allah and no one else. We

need to be afraid from Allah . Allah knew that fir’aun will never believe but still He was

sending messages and messengers to him, more the disbelief and denial more the sins. So the

denial in his case was not out of ignorance but out of his arrogance because rejecting the truth

is arrogance.

When we judge Allah’s rule and regulation with our minds then we make mistakes. Who are

we to give our opinion about haram and halal? The intellect Allah gave us to know more

about Him and attached to Him but it can also go towards arrogance and reject. So even

million of Allah’s signs come in front of the arrogant person he will never believe. And the one

who is seeing with the eyes of the heart will believe and increase in believe even if he looks at

a small sign of Allah .

So what happened when ale fir’aun showed arrogance and rejected the signs of Allah ?

Allah seized them suddenly when they were not even prepared for it

and were feeling at ease, from somewhere they had never imagined, at a time when they were
