Expected Results
• Up to a certain altitude, counts of cosmic and solar radiation per minute increase exponentially as altitude increases
• Above that altitude, the number of counts per minute decreases due to the thinning atmosphere where the radiated particles interact less with the particles of the atmosphere
Expected Results
• Primary cosmic rays collide with atmospheric particles, producing multiple energetic particles known as secondary cosmic rays. These secondary particles collide with more atmospheric particles and create even more secondary cosmic rays, an effect known as a cosmic cascade.
