I once needed some money to replace my phone. I decided to ask a business man who does much advertising to allow me print banners for a new service they were offering. He agreed and paid me to print some banners for the company at a price that fetched me enough profit to buy a new phone.

Sometime, I borrow products from co-marketers in a network business I do to sell. After my sales, I repurchase the products, return them and keep the profit. I find the customer and I keep the profit.

Several times, I have found myself in a situation where so many people want me to do so many things for them at the same time. It is one of the worst things that have happened to me.

It took me a long time to realize that I have the choice of doing just what I want to do. Anything you do out of your will may end up being wrong. When everyone wants your attention, it is better to commit yourself only to people and task that will give you the most satisfaction.

Don't be disturbed or bothered about the task you couldn't do or people you couldn't help. You can always do it later. Always learn to politely excuse yourself from activities or tasks that you know will get in the way of the more important things you should be doing.

The woman embarrassed by the way he spoke gave him the exact money he needed to fix the car. He concluded he can't make the interview because of the stress and time. He decided to return home.

End two…The young man walked up to the woman who was now standing beside her car. Madam please kindly advise your driver to be more careful in the future. `Thank you` said the woman. He continued, `As much as I will want you to fix the car now, I have to leave immediately for an interview in XYZ Company. `You can give me your contact so we can discuss fixing the car later. ̀ You mean you are on your way to XYZ Company, said the woman. I am also going there. I can drive you down while my driver goes to fix your car.

On arrival at the company, the young man discovered that the woman who drove him down was the CEO of the company and he didn't have to be interviewed as the woman offered him a top position in the company.

It is not what happens that matters; it is how you respond to it. You can control your mind to think and act right in every situation. Choose to act right always.

14Some people think luck brings success while others think success is a reward for past performance. If you study successful people today, you will find out they were hard working in the past.

Where you are today is the spot where the steps you took in the past leads. The same applies to your future. Where you will be in the future is greatly influenced by what you are doing today. Today is a seed that determines tomorrow's harvest. Before every harvest, there is a sowing.

I once had a deadline to meet for a printing project. As I finished the graphics design and tried saving, I realised that a virus on the computer will not allow me save the design that took hours to create. I almost busted into tears, I knew at once that I would not be able to meet the deadline.

I have lost count of other times I failed at something in my life. I use to think I am not good enough when I fail but over time I have come to realize that failing is part of success. You may never succeed at anything if you have failed at nothing.

Failure teaches us what doesn't work and gives us an opportunity to try a new approach. When Thomas Edison was asked how he felt failing several times before he invented the electric bulb, he answered, I did not fail at

making an electric bulb, I only learnt how not to make an electric bulb.

Another time I had to deposit some money at the bank few minutes before closing. I knew I would be late. I told myself, I would rather get to the bank late than not go at all. Though I got to the bank late, I was able to do my transaction (thanks to the security guard).

The fact that you fail at something does not mean you are a failure. You can fall but don't stay down. Never allow the fear of failure stop you from trying.

Determination is simply not giving up. No matter how hard things get, or how badly you want to just give up, you keep on going. Sometimes you just want to let go, when it seems like what you’re going for is just out of reach.

Sometimes you tell yourself if what you’re trying to get is worth the great amount of effort that you put in it. When things get hard, you start thinking that its not worth it, and you just want to let it go, but let me tell you this, the more pain and suffering you put into something, the better it’ll feel when you get it.

Determination is not giving up. Determination is not letting go. Determination is falling on your face and getting back up. Determination is losing feeling on your legs, and wanting to keep on going.

19I knew my charger was faulty. It had not been charging my laptop properly for some days and I had been advised by my engineer to replace it. I thought to myself that since it was still working, though not as it should, I can still manage it.

Few days later at work, I plugged in my laptop to power using the same charger. As I plugged in, my laptop went off. At first I thought it was a minor issue until I started smelling fumes from my laptop. I later confirmed from my engineer that my laptop motherboard (Main engine) has been destroyed.

Instead of spending a little amount of money and time to get a new charger, I now had to spend a lot more money and time to replace my laptop.

IF IT'S NOT GOOD, DON'T DO IT

If you feel it is not good, you may be right. Our mind has a way of cautioning us on impending problems and danger even when we don't have all the information. Don't operate in a dysfunctional state.

Dysfunction is coping with something that is not working properly and accepting it to be okay just because it is still functioning. Because it is still functioning does not mean it will always function. When in a dysfunctional state, stop the process or action and correct the situation before going on. You will save yourself a lot of stress on the long run if you never do something you know or feel is not good.

There are no such things as secrets. Sooner or later, people will get to know.Before you do or say it,

think about how much it matters to you and others.

20Have you ever done something wrong secretly in the past only to find out that somehow someone you don't want to know about it already knows? It happens every time; so many people are hunted and tormented by memories and secrets of their past that they thought were gone and hidden. The problem is that nothing can be done to erase those mistakes and memories even if they can be corrected.

People usually say don't wash your dirty linen in public. I say you are heading towards the public with a dirty linen the moment you start getting it dirty. No one is perfect but you should always think of the long-term consequence of your actions when you make decisions.

If you dig a hole to cover a hole, you will still have a hole. Don't do or say anything you don't want everyone to know. What is worse than making mistake is trying to cover them up; somehow they come up later to cause more and greater problems.

Instead of covering your mistakes, correct them. Face your fears and confront your challenges, you are not the first to screw things up. Admit and correct your mistakes and move on with life.
