The second week of November, over 185 women from all 21 chapters of the association convened at a Universal Studios property in Orlando, FL to learn truths and techniques to better manage their work lives and association business. Some of the truths identified were: It’s not the experience, it how we live the experience. If you want to change the experience, you need to change the filter. So much of

our experience is predicated in the consciousness with which we enter it. Most people tiptoe through life hoping to make it safely to death. Women are a bit afraid of change; they have a life that has a rhythm and a comfort to it. Super girls become wonder women. Build each other up; help each other out; become a

mentor. Creating customer loyalty is about understanding your vulnerabilities. We want better innovation, and we want it now! Toyota principles: Safety-Quality-Mass Reduction-Cost Reduction. The vehicles Toyota sells in the USA are 70% sourced in the USA and 95% sourced locally. The new administration is likely to emphasize increased infrastructure spending, which is good for the USA steel industry. Canada has already reached out to the USA lawmakers to revise NAFTA to better meet USA objectives. LAST ISSUE UNTIL A NEW EDITOR STEPS UP AND VOLUNTEERS

One of the purposes of the association is to provide opportunities for

members to step out of their comfort zones and learn new skills. We need a new editor for the chapter newsletter

to continue. We are committed to mentoring and will fully support the

new editor in their efforts.

Congratulations to Grace Lavigne of American Metal Market for stepping up as chapter secretary. We’re always looking to mentor new ladies to serve in the leadership of the chapter, please reach out to us at

Increasing AWMI’s Presence On Social Media

During the conference, there

was both a Facebook

scavenger hunt and a tweeting contest as the social media committee worked to

increase the associations

presence on social media.. Most chapters now have LinkedIn and Facebook

pages. Make sure to go out and

connect with us.

MANY THANKS!

The Northeast Region was the “host” for the Orlando conference and collected items for the raffle fundraiser, sold raffle tickets, made and sold conference t-

shirts, assimilated the participant goodie bags, hosted the first evening cocktail reception with a fun Jeopardy style game and worked the registration desk.

Thanks to all who pitched in!
