The replacement had been in discussion for 14 years. According to the state site newnybridge.com, the bridge will include 14 miles of new span cables, 50 miles of foundation pilings, 300,000 cubic yards of concrete and 220 million pounds (110,000 tons) of steel. The project will take 4 years to complete and just reached the halfway mark. Gerdau was selected as one of the suppliers. We are pleased to have Mr. Pete Diggs joining us April 4th, at Redd’s in the Meadowlands to give us an update on this project and the role that Gerdau and steel produced in the USA is playing. Delaware Steel Company of Pennsylvania buys and sells Prime, Excess Prime, and Secondary flat rolled steel. It is a national wholesale distributor with sales throughout the United States, Mexico and Canada. The company inventories a full line of aluminized, cold rolled, galvanized, galvalume, hot rolled and pickled and can accommodate inquiries for drawing steel, commercial steel, low carbon, high carbon and high strengths of all types. Delaware Steel Company of Pennsylvania has a heritage of over 60 years, with a new vision for this generation. It is an affiliate company with MNP Corporation of Utica Michigan. The company’s family culture is evident in all aspects of their business relationships. Lisa Goldenberg is President and her father, Jerald Brownstein, is Executive Vice President. Lisa was the first woman President of the Association of Steel Distributors (ASD), holding the position from 2012 through 2014. She was the third member of her family to have been elected to the position, following in the footsteps of her father, Jerald Brownstein (1978-1979), and her grandfather, Bernard Brownstein (1970-1971).
