The University of Winnipeg Foundation The University of Winnipeg Foundation is a registered and incorporated charitable public foundation dedicated to fundraising and asset stewardship in support of The University of Winnipeg’s mission. With the help of generous donors, the Foundation is building a legacy for the University, to enable it to better meet the needs, inspire the dreams of students, and create limitless possibilities for the future. Manitoba Scholarships and Bursaries Initiative (MSBI) The Government of Manitoba provides matching funds for donations made to universities and colleges through its Manitoba Scholarships and Bursaries Initiative (MSBI). MSBI matching grants are used to provide direct scholarship and bursary assistance to students, and to supplement endowments for both new and existing awards.

Disbursement of Award Amounts

Once a student is selected for an award, these are the steps you can expect:

o All awards are applied to the Student Account at the University

o Award amounts can be viewed online through WebAdvisor

o All awards are applied to outstanding balances

o If this award creates a credit balance, a refund cheque will be mailed after the course drop deadlines have passed

o All internal awards (with the exception of bursaries) are printed on the recipient’s official transcript

o Reductions in course load or complete withdrawal from the University may result in all or a portion of the award being reversed

Note: The University reserves the right to reduce, reverse or correct errors in award postings at any time.
