AwArDsWinners will be notified on or before November 13, 2013. Top 3 winners, along with their teacher and parents/guardians will be invited to attend ADL’s Artworks ADL: Justice, Advocacy and Art™ Exhibition in West Bloomfield, MI on November 17 where the winner’s artwork will be on display.
• Winners and their parents or legal guardians mustsign the Permission and Release Form in order toreceive their prizes. The Permission and Releaseform states that you grant permission for ADL to:
(1) Exhibit and/or auction the artwork withoutfurther compensation
(2) Use the artwork for advertising and promotionalpurposes without further compensation
(3) Photograph, videotape, or record an interviewwith the student about the contest and their artwork
• First Place winner will receive a day at the artstudio with one of our artists
• The school with the most entries will receive a acreative & fun filled-field trip to the Janice Charachgallery in West Bloomfield.

lost, damaged, or mishandled entries.
• ARTWORK WILL NOT BE RETURNED. Winningentries will become the sole property of theAnti-Defamation League.

What would a world without hate look like to you? How would it feel? Would it be a place where all are welcome regardless of age, race, religion, or sexual orientation? Would everyone respect each other and help each other? Create artwork that captures your idea of what a world without hate would look like.
sUbmission GUiDeLines• Only one entry per student; grades 9–12
• All entries must be postmarked by Tuesday, Oct. 24th, 2013

• Employees of ADL, their board of directors and theirimmediate family members are not eligible for thiscompetition.
• Entrants must submit along with artwork aone-paragraph explanation of what his/her artworkrepresents. The entrant’s name, school, or cityshould NOT appear anywhere in the paragraph.
• Entrants must complete an entry form and securelyclip it to the front of their artwork. The entry formmust include the following information:
- Student’s name, home address, and phone number
- Teacher’s name
- The name and address of entrant’s current school
• Teachers may submit entries for students, however,to qualify, each piece of artwork must include acompleted entry form attached to the FRONT of theartwork.
• Entries will not be returned.
Artwork GUiDeLines• Entrants must submit an original, unpublished work
of art – illustration or photograph. Submissionsshould not exceed 24" x 36". Sculpture andmulti-dimensional art pieces are not permitted.
• Illustrations may be in one or more of the followingmedia: painting (choice of watercolor, acrylic, ink, oil,and other), drawing, collage, and print (including silk-screens, lithographs, etc.)
• Photographs may be color or black and white.
• It is recommended that illustrations andphotographs be mounted on poster board.
• The entrant’s name, school, or city should notappear anywhere on the artwork.
JUDGinG GUiDeLines
• The first round of judging will take place online usingsocial media where everyone is invited to vote ONCEfor their favorite ArtWorks JR entry form. Entryforms are removed during the judging process toensure that judging is based soley on the merit of theartwork.
• Artwork will be judged on the amount of votes the pieces receive using the ArtWorks online campaign.
• Once the online judging has been completed, the final round will take place by artists and professionals in the field to vote on who will take the winning prize home and who will be the 2 runner ups. This will be based on originality, creativity, design, and interpretation of the theme appropriate to entrant’s grade level.
• Application of the judging guidelines will be at thejudges’ sole and absolute discretion. The judges’decisions are final and binding in all matters relatingto this contest.
