Award Subcommittee

Lessons Learned from 2014 Intelligent Systems Award

• We have named this award the same as a high-level AIAA honor award… rename!!

• If an award cycle is skipped, all the carry-over nominees are no longer eligible for the next award cycle

• Ensure that we always have at least one new nominee for each award cycle• When identifying a potential nominator, find out if he/she is an AIAA member since only AIAA

members are eligible to make nomination• AIAA members can nominate a nominee whom they don’t know, but consider to contact

nominee to work with them to strengthen the nomination package• Have a pool of good candidates to go to when problems develop with one of the nominations• Develop a schedule to track nomination process• Establish a selection panel in advance to save time
