ABSTRAK

Pada penelitian ini penulis merancang material komposit dengan menggunakan

serat karbon kevlar, serat rami, dan serat agave yang diikat dengan matriks

campuran poliester dan karet silikon yang akan pada produk panel rompi anti

peluru.

Setelah penulis membuat spesimen dengan persentase karet 30%, 40%, dan 50%

lalu dilakukan pengujian impak dan mendapatkan hasil uji impak tertinggi pada

campuran karet silikon 30% yaitu sebesar 0.0209 Joule/mm². setelah material yang

tepat sudah diketahui, maka penulis membuat produk panel rompi anti peluru dari

material komposit laminasi serat karbon kevlar setebal 5 mm, serat rami setebal 5

mm, dan serat agave setebal 5 mm yang diikat dengan matriks campuran poliester

70% dan karet silikon 30% dengan ketebalan total 15 mm sesuai dengan produk

panel rompi anti peluru level IIIA standar NIJ 0101.04. Selesainya dibuat produk

panel rompi anti peluru ini akan diuji tembak di Kesatrian Pusat Pendidikan

ARHANUD kota Batu. Pengujian tembak menggunakan senjata pistol G2 Elite

Pindad dengan kaliber 9 mm yang setara dengan peluru standar NIJ 0101.04. level

III A.

Dari hasil pengujian tembak produk panel rompi anti peluru yang dibuat oleh

penulis belum mampu untuk menahan tembakan peluru pistol G2 Elite Pindad

(tembus). Hasil kerusakan dari tembakan peluru pada produk dianalisa kerusakan

dan cacat yang terjadi pada material komposit melalui foto makro dan foto SEM

(Scanning Electron Microscope).

ABSTRACT

In this study the authors designed a composite material using carbon fiber Kevlar,

hemp fiber, and agave fiber which were bound with a matrix of polyester and

silicone rubber mixtures that would be on a bullet proof vest panel product.

After the author made a specimen with a rubber percentage of 30%, 40%, and 50%,

then the impact test was carried out and the highest impact test results were

obtained on a mixture of 30% silicone rubber in the amount of 0.0209 Joules / mm².

after the exact material is known, the authors make bullet proof vest panel products

from composite materials of 5 mm thick kevlar carbon fiber laminate, 5 mm thick

flax fiber, and 5 mm thick agave fiber tied with 70% polyester blend matrix and 30

silicone rubber % with a total thickness of 15 mm according to level IIIA bullet

proof vest panel products NIJ standard 0101.04. Completion of this bullet proof

vest panel product will be tested at the Kesatrian Education Center of the City of

ARHANUD Batu. Test firing using a G2 Elite Pindad pistol with a caliber of 9 mm

which is equivalent to a NIJ 0101.04 standard bullet. level III A.

From the test results of bullet proof vest panel products made by the author have

not been able to withstand G2 Elite Pindad (translucent) pistol bullets. The results

of damage from bullet shots on the product are analyzed damage and defects that

occur in the composite material through macro photographs and SEM photos

(Scanning Electron Microscope).
