“Awakening Humanity to Its
Spiritual Magnificence” and
“Creating a World that Works
for Everyone” are Visions of The
Centers for Spiritual Living/Global
Services.
The specific work of Global
Services is “to develop, support,
grow and empower
international spiritual communities
by bringing the teaching of Science
of Mind to the world.”
Visions are really personal and
collective clear inward views of
Reality that is present in Spirit, in
Mind. We wake up to our Visions
and if wise, and sometimes
courageous, say YES to them!
They demand we grow to become
the people for whom the fulfillment
is entirely natural. To do this we
release all that is not in accord-
ance with our Higher Self and the
Vision we have been given. After
we know or SEE the Vision we
Treat our own Consciousness to
become imbued with the frequen-
cy, or creative energy of Spirit
Itself so it shall work to, through
and for us to bring forth the Vision
into tangible, living form and
experience.
In addition to joining in the
Visions of the great people of our
organization, I have a Vision of my
own.
I see a world of people
knowing the Truth of each
person as a direct expression
of the ONE source, of GOD, the
Creative Principle and
substance of the Universe.
Knowing ONENESS with Source
and each other they are living
in respect for and peaceful
cooperation with each other so
as to make sure of the well
being of every individual; well
being as spiritual, mental,
physical and emotional
individualizations of the One
Life.
This could be called the “promised
land” or “Heaven as Earth”. This is
fulfillment of our destiny to BE in
consciousness living expressions of
the Good of what we call God,
Love, Peace, Beauty, Intelligence,
Order, and Harmony, e.g. all the
qualities of God inherent within us
as our very nature.
Please see yourself on a ship that
is crossing the sea. Waves are ris-
ing and falling but you are
supported in your vessel. As the
ship nears the shore you realize
you are about to land on and live
in a new land, one in which you
are living as the fullness of your-
self as One who knows his or her
True Identity.*
VISIONS ARE TO BE REALIZED
Rev. Dr. Nancy ANDERSON
Awakening Humanity to Its Spiritual Magnificence
Creating a World that Works for Everyone
Awakenings 2
You know you are not alone, that all your
family of humans has made the voyage
safely through storms and travails and
temporarily being off course; that all your
family has grown to be able to live as truly
Realized, Awakened Beings creating a world
that does “work for everyone.”
We are on that ship and the shore is within
sight. As a working crew of that ship we who
live and who teach the Truths of Science of
Mind have committed to bring the Truth to
people all over the world so the Spirit-given
Visions of all of us in New Thought are
entirely fulfilled.
New crew members on the Global Services
part of the “ship of the wise” come to us as a
gift, bringing their fine skills, caring hearts,
spiritual awareness, intelligence and great
devotion to our work.
I am honored to have been re-elected Chair
of Global Services for one more year. I am
grateful to have this opportunity to serve the
work in this capacity as the
endeavors many of us have
been doing are bringing us
closer to having the ship of
humanity really reach the
land of Realization.
The newly elected Vice-Chair
is Rev. Chris Plym who has
been an outstanding Treasurer
and is one the most clear and
effective people I have ever
worked with.
Rev. Sheila Weldon has
returned to Global Services,
elected as Treasurer where
her fine mind and business/
financial skills shall serve us.
Rev. Monica Sandoval was
re-elected as Secretary, a
role she fills well and is also
the founding leader of a
Science of Mind group in
Chihuahua, Mexico.
Rev. Kathy Jordan,
primary designer of our new
and amazing Web Pages,
continues on our Core Team.
www. globalervices.csl.org
The talented new people
committed to global
expansion are:
Rev. Mary Lacquet
Chair 2014 Geneva Conference
Mary will be working with strategy and also as a liaison with all of of the European field
Savanna Riker, RScP
representing youth
Stephen Campbell, RScP
who lives in Peru and is part
of the Spanish Language
Task Force.
Rev. Juliet Vorster of
England has been named our
Liaison with the Leadership
Council, of which she is a
member.

Awakenings 3
We are so very grateful to Rev. Gregory Toole, who has supported the global
vision and our work so well in his capacity as liaison to us from Leadership and
Home Office.
He is leaving Home Office at the end of June and we know continuing success
for him in all areas of his life.
Rev. Barbara Leger, Dr. Paul Skok, Rev. Melanie Burns and Dr. Tom Sannar continue
sailing on this Ship of the Wise, but no longer in the Global Services part of the vessel. Their
service to Global Service has been so magnificent and we are so grateful!
The work of these four people has been very valuable, even essential, in enhancing our ability to effectively serve the Vision of the Leadership of CSL. The work of these four
has helped develop clear strategies and very helpful partnerships that are resulting in a
greater role for Global Services.
Rev. Beth Linguri, and Rev. Jennie Goff
are people who, though not on the Core Team,
are putting their skills and interest in global
work at the service of our joined
dream.
Rev. Beth Linguri, Rev. Jennie Goff
You will be introduced in a more deep way to these people as we continue our spiritual journey
towards the land of Realization by All.

Awakenings 4
We shall have a part time staff person in
the office in 2014, and look to work with
most Departments of CSL so that we serve
them and they know how to further global
expansion through their activities.
We shall be bringing greater educational,
cultural and spiritual support to various
groups in the Spanish-speaking world, and
Russia and Ukraine and throughout Europe,
and China…in fact to all present and newly
developing Centers, Teaching Chapters and
Study Groups.
I add a note of personal
appreciation for Rev. Sharon
Mitchell, who so brilliantly
edits our E-Newsletter,
Awakening; and created a
magnificent Power Point
presentation showing the work
of Global Services and
individual centers and people in the field,
and whose dedication to the expansion of
our teaching makes a great deal of differ-
ence for good for all of us!
This is a challenging, even dangerous time
for our race of Spiritual Beings in human
form. We are called on to stand firm,
understand and yet not participate in the
actions of those whose consciousness is
that out of which the human race is
growing.
The awakening of the Consciousness of the
majority of us is essential!
We must bring the Light of
Awareness into ignorance so
that it may be transformed.
This is our Sacred Assignment
by Life!
I am humbled and grateful to be part of
The Centers for Spiritual Living and to Chair
and work with the great people of Global
Services. Yes, the land towards which our
Ship of Humanity is sailing is in sight. We
have seen many “signs of land” in the re-
sults of the work of so many people in New
Thought. We must stay the course, keep
our attention on the Beacon Light that is
showing us the way and also realize it truly
is God, The Consciousness of the Creator,
the Source which does the work. We are
blessed to have that work be done by and
through us, as we serve
Love in all we do.
In Great Love and Faith,
Dr. Nancy Anderson

“You can never change things by fighting
existing reality. To change something, build a
new model that makes the existing model obso-
lete.” Buckminister Fuller
In two very different areas of the world, there
are some very powerful activities happening to
make the existing models of war, civil conflicts,
crime, belief in very limited resources of any
kind, and in the powerlessness of individuals to
make a difference totally obsolete.
These areas of note are in San Miguel de
Allende, Mexico and the work being done by
Rev. Barbara Leger’s TEMENOS center in
Ukraine.
In San Miguel, Dr. Nancy Anderson shares the
spiritual truths we know through various group
activities and services, under the title “Unity in
Diversity.” She is now part of a grass roots
movement in the city, a movement called El
Camino de La Paz, or The Path of Peace.
The movement started to bring a model of
cooperation, safety and peace to a city
Conde Nast (one of the world's premier travel
magazines) called “The Greatest City in the
World” in 2013. Great it is, but not without
real problems that a
strong Conscious Peace
movement could help
solve. She is active in
the communication,
prayer and meditation
work of this movement.
Dr. Beverly Nelson is
Director of Life Path, an
organization and venue
where many spiritual and
self-development
activities happen. She initiated this movement
stating she knew that peace begins in each
person’s heart and mind and can translate
through those with an inner state of peace and
love and literally lift the consciousness of a
whole community, a nation and the world. She
and many others are working to have San
Miguel qualify as a United Nations’ “Culture of
Peace City.”
Rebecca Crall is Area of
Focus Manager for Peace and
Conflict Prevention/ Resolution
for Rotary International. She
came to San Miguel to speak
to Rotary and to the beginning
El Camino de La Paz
participants about her world
work and to honor what is
happening in this historic
Mexican city.
David Lieberman, who is an
experienced Transcendental
Meditator will lead in that area
and has written a mission
statement and explanation of
this beginning work:
“We are a community of
individuals and organizations
working together to bring
peace and improve the quality
of life in San Miguel de Allende, the region, the
country and beyond.
We are an inclusive community pursuing this
goal through activities such as education,
personal development, group and individual
prayer and meditation, conflict resolution
practices and various outreach actions and
events.” The intent is to have San Miguel de
Allende be an example for any city in the world.
Since we last reported on
Rev. Barbara Leger and her
teaching and conference
activities in the Ukraine at
the TEMENOS Science of
Mind community, the country
was invaded by Russian
troops and returned to
Russian rule. We bring you
this update.
Awakenings 6
“This experience brings up deep cultural fear
and SOM is needed more than ever – please
support us as we work inside this real battle
between light and dark.” writes Rev. Barba-
ra. “I never witnessed any prejudice against
Russians during my 13 years – which is
amazing – and I often thought of how mag-
nanimous Ukrainians are to forgive and move
on together with people who had occupied
and destroyed much of their way for life for
80 years.”
TEMENOS is located in Cherkasy, in center of
the country. To date, they have graduated
24 practitioners and operate the regional
center with three additional teaching sites,
two of which are in Crimea, where the occu-
pation is taking place. “We continue to ask
lots of questions about do we need visas to
get to the groups, and for me return to the
cottage I own there and check on all my
friends and of course, the site of the
conference for 10 years is there and we may
not be able to return.
Our big lesson right now is non-attachment.”
Life is asking each of us the following:
To find true peace and divine love within –
to be it, to share it, to trust it.
To discover that non judgment/acceptance is
essential to maintain peace and love (so
no political sides, blame, or conversation
even except to say LIFE IS TEACHING US
NOW) for the best is yet to come!
To understand the Non-attachment lesson
means that we will not experience a
world that works for all if we have to
win, have to have it our way, or need my
stuff to be happy.
To know the Power of personal responsibility
and effect of each of us has when we
attune to this Living God within.
“The long term implications of this are
immense, both within and outside of
Ukraine” writes Rev. Barbara.
“This is not a little border squabble and it has
the potential to set a far-reaching series of
events in motion that will affect the entire
planet. . .Our story is part of CSL's story as
we have called forth a world that works for
all. We are all part of its unfolding; it is
only midway into the tale.
The rest depends on us, what we do with
it!” Rev. Barbara writes.
The TEMENOS spiritual community issues a
newsletter with periodic updates on their
progress and activities.
Included in past editions are audio and
videos in English from the practitioners on
how they are dealing in Truth Principle with
the occupation and the many losses they are
suffering. Subscribe by writing to
You can also read more about TEMENOS
on their website at

Rev. Barbara and her practitioners were also interviewed on Unity FM by Rev. Beverly Molander
on her program ‘Activating the Power of YES' on March 17, 2014.

After joining SOM in
2009 and studying with
Dr Tom Sannar online, I
was encouraged and
supported by Rev Dr
Nancy Anderson
(Chair person on Global
Services) to raise a
group in Karachi Paki-
stan. With her guidance
and support we had not
only a strong group in
Karachi Pakistan but we
flourish in a year to ex-
tend another group in
Gujranwala Pakistan and beside that we were
conducting an international group using
skype and we had members from six
countries beside Pakistan who were coming
together at the same time to participate in
our weekly study/meditation meetings.
In May 2012 I had to come USA to take
refuge as I was getting threats against my
life from a few non Christian individuals
because of my studies I was giving and for
my peace related activities.
IN USA
I came USA New York on May 2012 I spent a
year in Philadelphia PA and New York back

moved to New York. Though I was in
struggling position I kept myself clinging to
my goals.
Introducing SOM teachings especially to
South Asian individuals and Commu-
nities living in USA and generally to all
others.
Helping, leading and guiding groups
back in Pakistan.
During this period I got a chance to visit
centres of Spiritual Living People in New
Jersey Morris Town Rev Frankie Timmers
once, and Rev Wade Adkisson New York few
times. I also got a chance to visit few states
beside New York and PA to sing and share
my thoughts and insights with community,
individuals and groups.
I am looking forward from SOM family to
keep me in conscious prayers and show up
for;
My refuge application approval (in
process I am waiting, only after
approval I can call and see my family
here)
My work/job I am looking, that is directly
related to community development
(NPO) and introducing SOM teachings
to struggling South Asian individuals
and communities especially and to
rest all generally.
Sponsorship for my further studies of
SOM to be a licensed minister

”That notion, while not exactly
phrased in Science of Mind
(SOM) language, is all about
following your passion. And
around the world, individuals,
practitioners and ministers are
following their passion to bring
a new way of thinking and be-
ing, a new consciousness to
thousands of seekers of Truth.
In recent years, Centers for Spiritual Living
(CSL) Global Services has had the pleasure of
awarding mini-grants to sustainable SOM works
throughout the world abroad. Global Services
sees ourselves as the driving force within Cen-
ters for Spiritual Living that serves and con-
nects one world family through the expansion

to: Barracas CSL, Chihuahua, Mexico; El
Puente, Costa Rica; Geneva Center for Peace,
Switzerland; Ciencia de la Mente Y Espiritu
Puerto Rico; Centre for Spiritual Living, Shang-
hai; and Temenos Ukraine.
Listen to what our recipients say:
Because of her grant funds, Rev. Ogla Silva,
of the Ciencia de la Mente Y Espiritu Mexico-
Puerto Rico, states: “The success came in that
… a new group of students have started study-
ing on line in Spanish that [previously] knew
nothing about Science of Mind of the teachings
of Ernest Holmes.
Rev. Rob Applegate, Centre for Spiritual
Living, Shanghai, shares what this work means
to him: “Shanghai is not an easy place to live
as you might know from news reports. I am
constantly amazed that I keep feeling this
sense of purpose even on VERY difficult days.”
Applications for mini-grants are requested from
the International Community.
Mini-grant awards are available in four
categories:
1.) Seed money for new physical Centers in
countries or regions where SOM does not
currently exist. Awards will be based upon
business plans reviewed by Global Services
Core.

areas where SOM is currently represented.
Awards based upon Global Services review of

On February 8th Anna and I went on a guided
bus tour. We visited a carpet weaving school
sponsored by the Turkish government. Students
learn the unique art of weaving Turkish carpets.
It's very time consuming. Small carpets take a
year and a half to make. Large carpets can take
up to six years. They are quite expensive, from
about a Thousand dollars up to 33,000. The
spokesman for the school kept insisting he was
not a salesman, but he was.
An American lady in our tour group talked the
salesman down from $1,000 to $500 and
bought a very small carpet. It fit in her not so
big purse.
After the school, we visited the ancient city of
Ephesus, or Efes in Turkish. It was very
interesting. On a hill near Efes there is a chapel
built over the site of what tradition says was the
house where the mother of Jesus spent her last
days. There is strong historical evidence that
she did.
Anna and I tried to look victorious posing with
Nike, Greek goddess of victory.
Did we succeed?
The Efes library has statues of four goddess in
front but they don't show up too well in the
picture.
