The ABJ offers exceptional cabin dimensions

and proportions that operators look for in

the business jet market. The airliner size

cabin has a volume over three times that

of current mid-size business jets and this

allows the installation of full size bespoke

interiors.

The large cabin of the ABJ translates into

virtually unlimited choices and flexibility in

interior configuration. Whether the aircraft

is intended for use in the private, corporate

or charter market the ABJ lends itself to all.

Due to the size of the cabin, it can easily

be customised using a combination or mix

of VIP, executive and economy compartments.

With forward and rear passenger doors,

service doors, galleys and toilets, a split

cabin configuration can genuinely be

achieved. Interchangeable zone modules

and seating can be designed, permitting

changes to the layout in order to

accommodate larger groups of guests or

changing business requirements.

The ABJ can also be fitted with a VIP Quick

Change kit comprising of a twin club 4, a

partition and curtains. This allows corporate

or charter operators the flexibility of being

able to readily create a VIP compartment

as and when required.

The ABJ concept is already proven, with

a significant number of aircraft already

converted from pre-owned Avro RJ or BAe

146 regional jets. In addition to interior

changes, updated avionics, in-flight

entertainment and protection systems can

also be incorporated. These changes can

be accomplished by a number of approved

maintenance and completion centres

worldwide. Internal cabin dimensions are

virtually identical between the Avro RJ and

BAe 146 and both aircraft are available in

three different fuselage lengths.

AvailabilityBAE Systems manages a large portfolio of

Avro RJ and BAe 146 aircraft that are

available for lease and for purchase. Using

its extensive network and re-marketing

experience, BAE Systems Regional Aircraft

Although fully compatible with the facilities

at major airports, the ABJ is equally at

home on remote and poorly equipped

airfields. The ABJ also has the capability to

operate from unpaved runways. An on-board

APU provides ground power, while waist

level baggage holds and optional integral

airstairs complete your independence from

ground equipment and handling services.

SecurityThe ABJ provides a self contained, secure

means of transportation. Its four engine

configuration, excellent low speed handling

characteristics and steep approach capability

offer enhanced levels of access to local

airfields, minimising your ground journey.

Additionally, in today’s sensitive security

environment, you and your aircraft can be

protected by BAE Systems Infra-red

Countermeasures (IRCM)* and some

in-service ABJs already have this equipment

installed.
