• A combination of the AP/Dual Credit options above• A combined 1750 or higher on all 3 sections of the SAT

(with a min score of 530 on each section)

• A composite score of 26 or higher on the ACT and completion of the writing section.

ECA Testing(end-of-course assessments)

Students must pass ECAs in Algebra I and English 10 in order to graduate from Avon High School and receive a diploma.

The English 10 ECA is first given in the spring of student’s sophomore year.

The Algebra I ECA was taken after completing the Algebra I course (most sophomores have taken the Algebra test

and may have retaken it in December).

Area 31 Career Center

Open House for Area 31 will be held on Tuesday, January 27, 2015 from 6:00-8:00 pm at the Career Center at Ben Davis High School. Postcards are mailed home to sophomores.

Informational pamphlets for each career program are available in the guidance office.

There is a separate application that needs to be completed in addition to selecting the course on Avon’s pre-enrollment form. The Area 31 application deadline is February 20, 2015.

College Fairs/Exploration Hendricks County College and Career Fair

- Thursday, February 26, 2015, at the Hendricks County 4-H Fairgrounds in Danville. Sophomore parents will receive postcards in the mail closer to the date.

National College Fair - September 17, 2015, at the Convention Center in downtown Indianapolis.

College Visit Days – juniors have two approved days to visit on campus.

College Rep Visits to Avon – students can sign up in Naviance to attend these visits during SRT throughout the junior year.

Get involved in Extra Curricular Activities

Colleges want to see student involvement!

A list of active clubs and organizations is available in the guidance office as well as on the high school website.

Involvement helps develop skills in: leadership, time-management, self-discipline, citizenship, community, etc.
