• Rajiv is the Founder and CEO of Avista Advisory Group. He has over 20 years of experience in the financial services market

• Rajiv has spear-headed projects in Private Equity, Trade Finance, India Entry Strategy and M & A and completed many innovative transactions during the span of his career, several of which are considered “firsts” in the industry

• Prior to Avista, he was with India’s premier corporate group “Tata Sons”. He initiated Tata’s foray into investment banking by setting up their entire team from scratch & building it into a significant player across India within a period of 3 years. Tata’s focus was to build a strong fee based business across investment banking products by leveraging its intellectual capital, which he did very successfully

• Prior to Tata, he worked for India’s premier leasing company in treasury, client relationship, funds management & venture capital

• He is a dynamic team builder and thrives on building relationships globally

• Rajiv has an MBA in finance from the University of Mumbai and is also a Professional Chartered Accountant.

Amit ShahExecutive Director

• Amit is the Executive Director of the Avista Advisory Group. He is also a member of the founding team of Avista

• He has over 15 years experience in various financial services functions

• Amit has led transaction closures for numerous reputed Indian Business Houses and Multinational Companies

• As an expert transaction leader, he has been involved in key transactions in several industries such as Telecom, Pharma, Agrochemicals, Textiles and Retail.

• He has an MBA in Finance from the Institute for Technology and Management, Mumbai and a CPA (USA).

Sam SubramaniamManaging Partner and Board Member

• Sam is the Managing Partner and a Board Member of Avista Advisory Group and has 20 years financial services and operating experience

• He plays an anchor role in firm strategy, leadership, business development, global alliances and talent development

• Previously he was one of the Founding Partners of a group of India investments totaling $2 billion in capital including $1.5 billion in real estate and $500 million in private and public equity

• He co-led the group’s private equity fund India Equity Partners (IEP) based out of Mumbai, India since its inception in 2005 until recently

• Prior to IEP, he was a Vice President and member of the leadership team of American Express’s Strategic Planning and Business Development Group that reported to the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer

• Previously Sam worked at Goldman Sachs in New York and San Francisco and Booz | Allen | Hamilton in significant roles

• Sam has an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago, an M.S. in civil engineering from Vanderbilt University and a B.Tech. from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras.

Monica KochharDirector

• Monica is a Director of Avista Advisory Group and has over 10 years experience in consulting, marketing of consumer products, hospitality and retail sectors

• Monica currently heads Avista’s consulting division and Human Relations function

• She has a Masters degree in Management Studies from the University of Bombay and a diploma in Hotel Management from the Institute of Hotel Management Catering Technology & Applied Nutrition, Mumbai.
