 Averett Seminars Abroad: Comparative Education & Society in Dublin May 29-June 18 2021 Program description Interdisciplinary, experiential seminar in Dublin, Ireland. Educational and cultural site visits will provide a historical understanding of this global city. Through dialogue and reflection, participants are encouraged to examine how these cultural intersections affect society, economics, and education. The trip includes (but is not limited to): Expert guest lectures Visits with local schools and community organizations Walking tours around Dublin’s historic & artistic districts Day excursions to the Cliffs of Moher, Kilkenny, & Wicklow Study Abroad is carefully monitoring the conditions domestically and in the destination country. If travel is cancelled due to COVID-19 health & safety issues, participants will be issued refunds. Students who need the course credit will have virtual options. Who can go? Current Averett students (undergraduate & graduate) and Averett alumni (yep!)

Averett Seminars Abroad: Comparative Education & Society in Dublin  

May 29-June 18 2021 

Program description 

● Interdisciplinary, experiential seminar in Dublin, Ireland.

How to Apply 

1. Current Averett students: Register for IDS399: Averett Seminars Abroad (spring 2021) with Dr. Aimee Brenner (alumni may choose to audit the academic course).  

a. Deadline: January 20, 2021 

2. All participants: Fill out the Study Abroad application at averett.abroadoffice.net/Ireland  a. Choose Dublin: Comparative Education & Society, then “Apply.” You will be 

prompted to create a secure account.  

Finances 

● Program cost: $4,900 (includes international airfare, ground transportation, lodging, guides and entrance fees, some meals, excursion costs, insurance). 

● First deposit due: $1000 on February 1st 2021 

○ Current students: trip is billed via Student Accounts during the spring semester; financial aid can be applied to the fee. Ask about grant options! Contact [email protected] with questions.
