The Annual Intercollegiate Cultural fest ASTRAL 2019 of Annai
Veilankanni's College for Women was held in the college premises in a
Spectacular manner on 9th March 2019. It was diligently organized. There
was an astounding energy to it. Our students cheered and enjoyed it
thoroughly. It was vibrant and exuberant. Everybody enjoyed the cultural
function and highly appreciated the organizers. The function revealed
many aspects of students' talent before the audience. The On-stage events
comprised of variety entertainment (Flight of Fancy) and group dance
(Tap the floor)
It was presided over by the College Chairman Dr.S.Devaraj. The Off-stage
events were Kitchen Kings, Doll up like a Doll, Trinkets Creation, Gloss
the Mask, Bio Model Creators, Scrap Expert, Marketing upshot, Block and
Tackle. “Joker” Movie Actress Ms. Ramya Pandiyan was the Chief Guest
for the Inaugural Function. She encouraged the students to be brave and
to pursue their dreams diligently. Celebrities from silver screen and
Television artists enthralled the day throughout by their visit Mr. Muthu

Address was delivered by Dr.D.Devanand Secretary AVGI, In His
Speech, He encouraged Students to actively take part in the debate and
the Special Address was followed by the Prinicpal Dr. Anita Rajendran
and Thiru. M.Prabhu Gandhi Jain briefed the Tamil Nadu Budget Plan.
Students were encouraged to discuss about various issues on the
process of our State development like New Job Creation, Doubling
F a r m e r s I n c o m e , D i s a s t e r M a n a g e m e n t , a n d W o m e n
Entrepreneurship. The panel appreciated the College effort to take
initiative to conduct a pre budget programme debate among students

Empowerment” on Saturday 6th October 2018 at

Ms.Premala David, Assistant Dean of Annai
Veiankanni's College for Women, Ms.D.Rebekha
Elezebeth and 86 students had participated from
various other Departments and received
certificates. This conference was useful to
students.
which would help them to have better perspectives about the State's
future Infrastructure, development, Fund management and Disaster
Management. The Panel Addressed Students Queries on how GIM
will help in the growth of our state and the Various Opportunities for
the further development of our State.
Auditor Vikram summarized on how to receive Global funds and
Funds management which would enable better infrastructure in the
state. Auditor Srinivasan briefed on how New Jobs are created
through attracting Global Funds and Investors. GIM offers a Fresh
Scope of Growth through Setting up a World Trade Centre in
Chennai which would eventually make Chennai a total Business
Hub. Ulavar Boombi Social Entrepreneur Vetrivel exemplify on
how Agriculture Field is going to bloom in years to come. The First
day of the session ended with a Vote of Thanks by Dr. Renilda Sophy,
Assistant Professor Department of Biochemistry.

keynote address. Dr. J. Nomila Merlin, Vice Principal introduced the
Chief Guest. The Chief Guest insisted the students to develop their
skills and attitudes to acquire job and equip themselves with
required updated knowledge to meet their industrial needs.

Professor (Dept. of Computer Science& Applications) proposed the

Institutions and other faculty members from Annai Veilankanni's

Department of Computer Science &
Applications Organized Seminar on 27th
February 2019. Mr. Anand Kumar Mandava,
Project leader, L&T gave an Introduction on
Virtual Reality and Artificial Intelligence. He
explained the concept in such a way that the
students were directed towards AI platform to
build their career. We have organized this
seminar for final year students.

AWARENESS PROGRAMME
CED Anna University and EDI TN organized
half day Entrepreneur Awreness Programme for
students on 17th October 2018.N.Rekha of Bio –
Chemistry, R.Nivetha of B.Com (A&F) and
S.Divya Bharathi of B.Sc.Maths had
participated. This awareness program was
useful for the students.

Placement Cell of AVC organized placement training for a week
prior to the Job Fair and had invited around 34 prominent
companies to take part in the Job Fair, Companies like HTC Global
Services, Eureka Forbes, Calibehr, Teamlease, AGS Group of School,
Tata Strive, Golden Enterprises, Mahindra Pride, One Point
Solutions, Talk Media, First Source, Radan Technologies, Apollo
Pharmacy etc., Around 1000 students including Alumni of AVC
participated and were given platform to get employed in various
sectors and collected their offer letters.

students about Menstrual Cycle, and the hazards of improper cycle,
which is the onset of many other major illnesses. Mrs. Angel, Health
Visitor, highlighted on Tuberculosis, its symptoms and the steps to
cure Tuberculosis.

ENVIRONMENTAL AWARENESS
07-03-2019
The session commenced at Annai Veilankanni College of
Engineering, Nedunkundram for tree plantation. In today's fast
moving mechanical world; people don't have time to grow trees,
which serves us in plenty of ways. To create awareness on
environment, Annai Veilankanni's College for Women, NSS

Christmas is for Joy, giving, sharing, laughter, for
coming together with family and friends, and for
songs and decoration. The spirit of Christmas fills
our heart with immense love. Soaking in the spirit
of Christmas, Today, we at AVC celebrated
Christmas with gaiety. The day started with a
prayer song. The Principal Dr. Anita Rajendran,
rendered the Welcome Address. Christmas
celebrations' special message was shared by
Father Lawrence Raj. The Vice Chairman
Dr.M.Delphin Devaraj shared the good news of
the Christmas, followed by the Presidential
Address by our beloved Chairman Dr. S.
Devaraj. And a Special Address was delivered
by Secretary Dr. D. Dev Anand. Thereafter a
special Christmas song by Director Dr. D. Johny
Christopher. An Inter Department Carol
competition was held with high spirits and
enthusiasm. Cakes were distributed to all the
students. Thus the Christmas Day celebration
was fun filled and a memorable day. It was surely
a day to cherish

Research in Tuberculosis, Indian Council of Medical Research was
the resource person, who gave special speech to the NSS volunteers
on Tuberculosis. Her speech served as an eye opener for various
other women health issues and its remedial measures.
DAY 6
CENSUS
09-03-2019
The session fervently began in
Aatrumanagar, Saidapet. The
NSS student volunteered
themselves in taking census in
that area. Arrays of questions
were thrown by the NSS
Volunteers to the public in order
to make an unbiased statement
for the survey. They also created awareness on the rights to vote.

Dhanalakshmi, NSS programme Officer Unit-II, Ms. S.
Geethalakshmi, NSS Assistant Programme Officer Unit-II guided
the students. It inculcated a positive social behaviour among the
volunteers.

WORKSHOP ON “INTRODUCTION TO “R” PROGRAMMING”
A Workshop on 'Introduction to R Programming' was organized by the Department of Mathematics in collaboration with ICT Academy on 4th December 2018 (Tuesday). Mr.Solomon Ashok, Manag ing D i rec tor, Sp lend io Technologies & Mr.M.Kishore Abishek, Managing Director, Zion Robotics & Advanced Engineering were the Special Speakers for the Workshop. Mr.Dinesh, Co-ordinator of ICT Academy also graced the occasion. Students and Faculty members of Maths Department and students from other Departments attended the Workshop. Students were given an insight into the basic concepts of R Programming. Students found the session to be very useful.

rendered by Ms. N.S. Dhanalakshmi NSS Programme Officer Unit-II.

The Department of English conducted the workshop “Soft Skills: To Say Connected” on 24.9.18 at Mahesh Hall. Prof.Dr.Shashikala, Kamaraj College Thoothukudi, and Mr. Solomon, Soft skills Trainer from Chennai were the resource persons. Dr, AnithaRajendran, Principal, welcomed the gathering. Secretary, Dr.D. Dev Anand inaugurated the event and delivered the key note address. Mrs. K. Adlin Deva Sugin, Head, Department of English introduced the chief guest to the forum. Dr. Nomila Merlin, Vice Principal graced the event with her presence. Session I on “Self Esteem” was handled by Mr. S.Solomon and Prof. Dr. Shashikala in the afternoon session shared her ideas on “Soft Skills: Fabricating your attitude for life”. Nearly fifty students from nine different institutions took part in the event. Mrs. Navukkarasi Gomathy proposed the Vote of Thanks. The event was a grand success.
REPORT ON ONE-DAY WORK SHOP “SOFT-SKILLS – STAY CONNECTED”

Report on “Lingua Quest 2018”
The Department of English organized “Lingua Quest” on 1 4 . 0 8 . 1 8 a t Mahesh Hall. Dr. Anita Rajendran, P r i n c i p a l , AnnaiVeilankanni's C o l l e g e f o r Women presented the Welcome Address. MS. Adlin Deva Sugin, Head, Department of English introduced the Chief Guest. Dr.D. Dev Anand, Secretary, AnnaiVei lankanni 's Group of Educational Institutions delivered the inaugural address and released the Department Magazine “Elysian”. Dr. Elizabeth Lucy, Associate Professor of English, from Holy Cross College, Nagerkoil, was the Guest of Honour. A series of competitions were conducted to motivate students, to encourage reading, and to have a good sportsmanship, and then the students were rewarded. The audiences were entertained with the host performance by students of Literature. Ms. Ruby Helen Frederick proposed the Vote of Thanks.
Report on “Lingua Quest 2018”
The Department of English, organized the Theatre Day on 24/08/17, between 12 p.m. to 2 p.m., as a fund raising activity. The venue was Mahesh Hall and nearly 300 students benefited from the programme. Arrangements were made to give the environment of a theatre. The movie “Conjuring I” was screened. The desideratum was to kindle the students' interest in watching English movies that would help them enhance their listening skills, language and vocabulary. The Department also set a few food stalls which gained the attraction of students. The event was a grand success.

Sangeetha Lakshmi. Dr.Nomila Merlin, Vice Principal, Staff members and Students graced the occasion.
The Day was concluded with heart filled memories.
PONGAL AT AVC
Annai Veilankanni's Group of Educational
Institutions celebrated Pongal with full pomp
and enthusiasm on 11th January 2019 in it
premises.
Dr. Saravanan, Assistant Professor, Dept. of Tamil
welcomed the gathering. Dr.S.Devaraj, Chairman,
rendered the Special Address and Pongal Wishes.
Dr.M.Delphin Devaraj, Vice Chairman, spread her
words of Pongal wishes. Dr.Johny Chirstopher,
Director, Mrs.Sridevi DevAnand, Dr. Deva Bala
Nirmala, Executive Committee Members, Annai Veilankanni's Group of Educational Institutions
expressed their Special Addresses, respectively.
The Pongal celebration started with Kolam Competition, followed by various dances and variety
entertainment of Tamilnadu such as Thappattam Karagattam, Oyilattam Kummiattam,Kolattam,
Uriadi and Pot-making etc.This was a great opportunity for students to showcase their talents.
Students and Staff of all Departments together exhibited many stalls selling different products. Dr. D.
Dev Anand, Secretary, Annai Veilankanni's Group of Educational Instituitions proposed the Vote of
Thanks. All the Principals of Annai Veilankanni's Group of Educational Institutions, Faculty Members,
Parents and Students graced the occasion.
INTER-COLLEGIATE FEST- BIOCHEMISTRA (2018-19)

An Inter-Collegiate fest - Biochemistra was
held on January 7th, 2019 at Mahesh Memorial Hall,
Annai Veilankanni's College for Women. The fest was
inaugurated by the Director Annai Veilankanni's Group
of Institutions and also the Chief Guest of the day Dr. D.

The Inaugural address was delivered by Dr. D. Johny Christopher on the topic “Healthy life style for
today's Students”. Bio-Project, Conceptual Entertainer and Biochem-ooh lala were the on-stage events
organized, while Bio-Depict, Bio-Art/ Cartooning and Bio-Nutritionac were the off-stage events. The
event judges for all these 6 events were Ms. B. Thiripurasundari, Assistant Professor and Head,
Department of Biochemistry and Dr. C. Anchana Devi, Assistant Professor, PG & Research, Department
of Biotechnology, Women's Christian College. Subsequently, the Valedictory Ceremony was a grand
event, wherein prizes and certificates were distributed for various events by the Event Judges, Principal,
Vice-principal and HOD. Among several Colleges, Vivekananda College won the Overall
Championship of Biochemistra. Achievements of the Department for that academic year was recorded
via magazine and launched at Inauguration ceremony.
KNOWLEDGE SHARING SESSION
Annai Veilankanni's College for Women has been conducting
Knowledge Sharing Session every week to enrich and update the
knowledge of the students. Fire Safety and Protection Awareness
Session was organized on 9thJanuary 2019 at Magesh Memorial
Hall.
Mr. Senthil Kumar, Assistant District Officer, Tamil Nadu Fire and
Rescue Services,
Chennai-South, with his team addressed our students
the preventive methods and strategies to safeguard
themselves during fire accidents, especially handling
LPG gas- cylinders and other gases that cause fire . He
conducted a demo to the students by bringing fire engine
vehicle into our college campus, and explained
how the fire engine works during fire
contingency. Further he highlighted on how to
handle leaking LPG gas cylinder, using fire
extinguishers. Our students and Staff
voluntarily involved in the practical demo
session and handled the fire rescue tools.
It was a good experience for our students and staff members to learn the safety measures needed in case

The Department of English organized a guest lecture on “Solar Energy” on 26th of August 2018 at Magesh hall. Mr. R.Raja S i n g a r a y a r , Assistant General Manager and Heading Business Development Initiative for Clean Max Solar in South India region served as the Guest Speaker. Mrs. K.Adlin Deva Sugin, Head Department of English, welcomed the gathering and introduced the chief guest. The chief guest delivered his lecture on the topic “Solar, The Future of the World”. He elaborated on the growing interest of solar energy, its application, uses, requirements and cost effectiveness. The presentation was highly informative and interesting. ORGANIC AND HERBAL TRAINING (SEP'2018)
ED cell conducted Awareness Programme called “Organic and Herbal products” on 06/09/2018. The trainers from ANNAI AADAI came to ANNAI VEILANKANNI'S COLLEGE FOR WOMEN and explained the importance of organic products, especially for girl students. The trainers conducted demonstration as how to make organic napkins and also explained the hygienic effects of using it.

The Department of English organized a guest lecture on 30.1.19. Mr.Praveen Prabu Assistant Professor in English, D.G Vaishnav College, Arumbakkam was the resource person. Mr. Praveen Prabhu briefed on the topic, 'Rudiments of Romantic age – Zeitgest'. The beneficiaries were the undergraduate students of English Department. Mrs. Adlin Deva Sugin, Head, Department of English introduced the Chief Guest and welcomed the gathering. The Lecture provided details on the Romantic Age, its features, works, writers and its relevance in Contemporary Literature. He also discussed on the possible questions from the Romantic Age for UGC Net/ Set Examination Preparation. The lecture was highly supportive to the study of background of English Literature. highlighted that Computer Science, Computer Applications and
Mathematics students are playing vital role in the IT Society.
As part of the programme we had conducted various off stage & on
stage Events like Face Painting, Collage, Sudoku, Quiz, Paper

REPORT ON THREE DAYS TRAINING PROGRAM
ON SOFT SKILLS(3.12.18- 5.12.18.)
The Department of English, considering the need of the day and having students placement in mind, conducted a three days training programme on Soft Skills. Mr. Solomon, leading Soft Skills trainer, Chennai conducted the session from 3.12.18- 5.12.18. Dr, Anita Rajendran, Principal AnnaiVeilankanni's College for Women inaugurated the programme. Around 60 students from various Departments participated. Students were trained on skills like preparing power point, preparing CV, group discussion, presentation skills, and interview. The training programme was theoretical as well as practical. The students were involved enthusiastically. Everyday's Assignment helped students improve their skills. Day three witnessed a tremendous change in the attitude of the students. The students on day three presented papers all by themselves on various topics which was interesting and encouraging. Certificates were distributed on 5.8.18, which marked the end of the session. The programme was highly useful to the students. The students felt motivated and confident by the end of the programme.
WORKSHOP AT ANNAI VEILANKANNI'S COLLEGE(AUG 2018)
Department of Commerce (AF&ISM) organized an
intercollegiate workshop on Income Tax E-filing on 29th of
August, 2018. Mr. V. P. Palanichamy, Director& Founder
of Barathwaj Institute and Ms. Rathipriya, Manager, Ernst
& Young LLP were the workshop resource persons. The
programme was inaugurated by Dr. S. Devaraj, Chairman,
Annai Veilankanni's Group of Educational Institutions by
lighting the ceremonial lamp. He insisted the students to
make use of the workshop to enrich their knowledge. Dr.
Anita Rajendran, Principal, AVC welcomed the gathering. Ms. Shiva Shankari, Head, Department of
Commerce AF-ISM, introduced the chief guest and resource persons. 17 colleges with 48 participants
and 110 students from other department participated in the workshop.
Chief Guest's in his address focused on the significance of IT filing. He stated that irrespective of the
government at the centre it is the duty of all citizens to switch themselves to E-filing as it will contribute
for nation's development at large. Workshop resource person Ms. Rathipriya explained in detail the
procedures of IT returns, ITR forms, heads of income, deductions available and demonstrated E-filing
for an individual assessee. Events like Connexion and RJ hunt were also conducted. The prize winners
were honoured with cash prize and certificates.
KINDLE FEST REPORT
Annai Veilankanni's College for Women, Department of Commerce
proudly conducted the Departmental activity under the banner
Kindle Fest on 10/08/2018. The Chief Guest of the programme was
Mrs.Krishna RadhaKrishnan, Founder and President of WEWA
Women Seva Trust. She addressed the students on Women
Empowerment. Dr.S.Devaraj, Chairman, Annai Veilankanni's
Group of Educational Institutions delivered the Welcome Address.
Secretary, Dr.D.Dev Anand, Annai Veilankanni's Group of
Educational Institutions presented the Special Address. The pride of the Event was the release of the
magazine “EVERCOM 2018”. Kindle Fest is conducted as an Inter Collegiate Commerce Fest. Students
from more than 18 colleges of Chennai city attended the event. The events were conducted on the title
“Prize Winning 6 P's”, they are Paper Presentation, Pandora's Box-Quiz, Product Bale, Product
Promotion, Personal Interview & Pictionary. The Judges of the various events were Dr.V.Surekha,
Associate Professor, PG Department of Commerce, Valliammal College for Women, Dr.Jayanthi
Lakshmanaswamy, Associate Professor of Commerce, Govt. Arts College, Nandanam, Mr.D.Balaji, HR
Manager, Dr.Agarwal's Eye Hospital respectively. Kindle Fest ended with the prize distribution
ceremony headed by the Principal, Dr.Anita Rajendran, Annai Veilankanni's College for Women. It was

Annai Veilankanni's Group of Educational Institutions
conducted a “Regreen Chennai Tree Plantation Programme “on
02-08-2018 in the Engineering College premises. Dr. D. Dev
Anand, Secretary, Annai Veilankanni's Group of Educational
Institutions welcomed the gathering. Dr.S. Devaraj, Chairman,
Annai Veilankanni's Group of Educational Institutions rendered
the Presidential Address.
Rev. Fr.Jegath Gaspar Raj, the Vision Head of Regreen, Chennai
was the chief guest of the occasion. He highlighted on the
importance of palm trees and its uses and he motivated the students to utilize latest technologies in order
to extricate the credentials of palm trees. Mr. Tamil Selvan and Mr. Thomas Franco delivered the Special
Address. Marathon programme was also inaugurated to improve social responsibilities.
As a part of the programme 10,000 saplings were planted. Dr. D. Johny Christopher, Director, Dr. Anita

Sri. D. SABARINANTHAM ASAN AUDITORIUM. The
Workshop was organized by the Department of Commerce
(Corporate Secretary ship and Computer Applications).
Principal Dr. Anita Rajendran presented the Welcome Address.
Presidential Address was delivered by the Founder Chairman
Dr.S. Devaraj, our Secretary; Dr. D.Dev Anand presented
Keynote Address, followed by our Director, Dr. D. Johny
Christopher's Special Address. Glimpse of the Workshop was delivered by the HOD of B.Com. CA and
CS Department, Ms. J. Shanthi Arul. Chief Guest Dr. S. Subramanian TNOU addressed the gathering on
the topic “Contemporary Competencies of Aspiring Managers in Corporate Sector”. He illustrated the
dynamics of the corporate industry, highlighting the importance of competency management and the
various aspects of the same meeting the demands of market.
The Second Session started with the Welcome Address by our Vice Principal Ms. J. Nomila Merlin and
Staff Secretary Ms. Adlin Deva Sugin felicitated the Chief Guest. Ms. Blessy, Assistant Professor of
B.Com.CA and CS, delivered introductory speech of the workshop, then, Ms. R. Rama Devi, HR, FORD,
addressed the participants on “Trends in E – tailing”. She imparted a wider knowledge about E – tailing
and its impact in recent times. The workshop was concluded with the National Anthem.

Annai Veilankanni's College for Women has been conducting Knowledge
Sharing Session every week to enrich and update the knowledge of the
students in both Odd and Even Semester. A Session was organized on 4th
December 2018 at Magesh Memorial Hall. Indian Development foundation,
a NGO addressed the students on Student Leadership Program and
a u g m e n t e d t h e s t u d e n t s o n
leadership quality, communicative
skills, personality development, etc. Around 103 students attended
the session. The session was very interesting and activities were also
conducted for the students.
The students actively and enthusiastically interacted with the
members of IDF. Thus the students were enlightened on good
behavioral pattern and adapting right attitudes to become a
successful leader.
KNOWLEDGE SHARING SESSION (DEC'2018)
A Knowledge Sharing session was organised on 12th December 2018 at Magesh Memorial Hall, Centre Head
Mr. Ramachandran from Global FTI, Chennai had addressed the B. Com
Students for their career guidance and future development. He presented
power point on “Career Guidance in the age of AI and Robotics”. Mr.
Ramachandran further enlightened the students on industrial changes,
financial professionals, certifications, data analytics, financial frauds and
case studies. The students derived the utmost utility in attending this
knowledge session by updating the current trends in technology.
KNOWLEDGE SHARING SESSION FEB- 2019
Annai Veilankanni's College for Women as a part of Knowledge
Sharing Session conducted an Awareness Programme on Career
Development and Guidance on 14th February 2019. Mr. Pramood,
Marketing Executive and Mr. Parameshwaran, Senior Executive from
Presidency University, Bengaluru addressed the final year students of
all streams and provided valid guidance for career development. It
enlightened on how to face the interview, personality development,
how to carry out one's own business, opportunities available in the
market and how to choose the PG course for successful life.
They gave many more ideas and suggestions. All the students actively participated and interacted with the
executives and their doubts got clarified regarding their career development.

sharing session Rexona Confidence Academy conducted a
Programme on Women Empowerment on 28th February 2019.
Mr. Sathish, Programme Coordinator of the Academy with their
members addressed our students.
The discussion started with the Personality Development of
women and how to equip
the confidence and cope up with the strategies of handling problems in
personal life, external life, workplace, etc. They also provided many
precautionary measures for women. The session was interesting and
students actively participated.

FACULTY DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME
A two day Faculty Development Programme on
“Teaching Techniques” was held in Guru Shri
Shanthivijai Jain College for Women, Vepery, Chennai
with ICT Academy on 10th and 11th September. Dr. S.
Ambiga and Dr. S. Vijayakumari, Assistant Professor,
Department of Business Administration, Annai
Veilankanni's College participated in it. The FDP aims
at imparting different teaching methods, enriching the
teaching skill of faculty members in handling the
students and how to incorporate knowledge. The
resource person Ms. Bhaargavee from ICT Academy
made the session very informative.
Day 1 Session enlightened on Developing Communicative Interaction and Presentation Skills in classroom,
Disc self assessment and SWOT analysis.
Day 2 Session enlightened on Teaching Techniques like 'networked teacher', 'mind mapping', creative
teaching and online courses for teaching.
The topics like mind mapping, disc self assessment and creative teaching were very interesting and this
could be implemented for the students to enhance their potential in studies and in widening their
knowledge. Thus, the FDP served a good purpose.

Annai Veilankanni's College for Women has been conducting
Knowledge Sharing Session every week to enrich and update the
knowledge of the students. The last session of Odd Semester was
conducted on 23rd July 2018 at Magesh Memorial Hall. Varthana
Group members addressed the students about Education and Student
loans available from various institutions and banks. They also
motivated the students on enabling them to understand and resolve
their problems. Students were benefited by getting information
regarding the loans available to them and the process involved in it.
COUNSELLING SESSION (JULY 2018)
Annai Veilankanni's College for Women always aims for the holistic
development of our students. Our Institution provides Professional
Counseling and Psychological assistance for all students. This is to
promote and ensure healthy environment and emotional well being.
Any students in the college with issues related to academic
performance, emotional disturbance, family issues, behavioral /
habitual disorders, etc., is
helped by professional
counseling services. The
students approach the counselor through the respective class
Tutors from various Departments.
The Counseling Session for the month of July was held on 18th July

develop right behaviour, values and ethics in their life.

The Counseling Session for the month of August was held on 20th
August 2018. Ten students were counselled by Dr. Jhansi Rani,
Family Counselor, Palani Balaji Fertility Hospital, Chennai and
coordinat ed by Dr. S. Ambiga, Department of Business
Administration and Ms. Aishwarya, Department of Commerce.
The counseling took place in a private chamber. In this Session, II
Year students of BBA, BA English, B.Com B sec, Bio-Chemistry
were participated.
This counselor facilitated the students to balance their emotional, psychological constraints and academics.
Thus, the counseling session enabled the students to become self-reliant and confident.
FOOD CARNIVAL - 2018
The Department of Business Administration &
MHRM organized "FOOD CARNIVAL - 18" on
11/07/2018 at 10:00 AM in our college premises.
The Programme commenced with a prayer song by
the College choir and was followed by the
Welcome Address delivered by the Head of the
Department Mr. K. Ganesan.
The Chairman of Annai Veilankanni's Group of
Institutions Dr.S.Devaraj delivered the Presidential
Address and his speech was so inspiring and he
also suggested our students to work hard and
motivated them. The Secretary of Annai

Following the chief guest of the day Dr.Chef.K.Damodaran addressed the gathering and enthralled our

Placement Cell had arranged an interview for Arts Students with DBS bank in the college campus on
13/07/18. The member of HR team from DBS Bank interviewed the students. Two passed out students from

Teamware solution had conducted aptitude test for 75 students, out of which 18 students were selected to
face the interview.

Annai Veilankanni's College for Women Organized the Job Fair on 15th February 2019.
Dr. S. Devaraj, Chairman, Annai Veilankannis Group of Educational Institutions rendered the
Presidential Address. Dr. D. Dev Anand, Secretary, Annai Veilankannis Group of Educational
Institutions presented the keynote address Mrs. Delphin Devaraj, Vice-Chairman, Dr. D. Johny
Christopher, Director; Annai Veilankanni's Group of Educational Institutions graced the occasion.
Dr. Anita Rajendran, Principal welcomed the gathering. The Chief Guest insisted the students to develop
their skills and attitudes to acquire job and equip themselves with updated knowledge to meet their
industrial needs. Dr. J. Nomila Merlin, Vice Principal introduced the Chief Guest.
Mr. Sathish Natarajan, Assistant General Manager, Human Resources, HTC Global Services India was
the Chief Guest for the Inaugural Session.
Ms. W. Malini Prema Kumari, Placement Co-ordinator & Assistant Professor (Dept. of Computer Science
& Applications) proposed the Vote of Thanks.
Placement Cell of AVC organized placement training for a week prior to the Job Fair and had invited
around 34 prominent companies to take part in the Job Fair, Companies like HTC Global Services, Eureka
Forbes, Calibehr, Team lease, AGS Group of School, Tata Strive, Golden Enterprises, Mahindra Pride,
One Point Solutions, Talk Media, First Source, Radan Technologies, Apollo Pharmacy etc., Around 1000
students including Alumni of AVC participated and were given platform to get employed in various
sectors and collected their offer letter.
