AVAYA OFFICE PHONE MANUAL ANSWER INCOMING CALLS • Pick up the handset or press SPEAKER to use the speakerphone. MAKING A CALL • Pick up the handset or press SPEAKER. • Dial the number, including any outside line digits and/or area codes. • To dial off campus, dial “9”, then number. • For long distance, dial “91”, then number including area code. (Phone must be long distance enabled. Director approval required and can be submitted to [email protected]) HOLD • To place a call on hold, press HOLD. • To retrieve a held call, press the “SOFTKEY” corresponding to the held call. CONFERENCE • To add another party to a call, dial the first party and then press CONFERENCE. The current call is placed on hold. • Dial the number of the next party and wait for an answer. • To add the new party to the call, press CONFERENCE again. • Repeat Steps 1 to 3 to add further participants. SPEAKERPHONE • SPEAKER switches the speaker on/off. NOTE: The 4602 model is restrictive to a one-way speaker, you must use the handset to speak to the caller. TRANSFERRING A CALL • With the call active, press TRANSFER. The call is placed on hold and you will hear a dial tone. Dial the number you want to transfer the call to and hit Transfer or the SOFTKEY. MUTE • To prevent the other person on the line from hearing you, press MUTE. • To reinstate two-way conversation, press MUTE again. CALL FORWARDING • To forward your extension to Voicemail, pick up the receiver and dial *3, hang up. • To un-forward, pick up the receiver and dial #3. • To forward to your extension to another extension, pick up the receiver and dial *2, hang up. • To un-forward, pick up the receiver and dial #2. VOICEMAIL • To set up your voicemail and update the phone display name, please place a request by visiting https://servicedesk.utep.edu. • To retrieve your voicemail, dial *7660 and enter your PIN.
