NAIDOC is a celebration of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and an opportunity to recognise the contributions of Indigenous Australians in various fields.
This year’s NAIDOC theme is Because of Her, We Can! which celebrates the contribution Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women have made and continue to make in our communities at local, state and national levels.
NAIDOC activities will be held across Banyule and everyone is encouraged to participate. Check out Council’s website for event details closer to the date.

Paintings of some of Banyule’s significant trees which honour their delicate beauty, monumental
forms and removes them from their normal context so we can focus on them as individuals.
Some are hundreds of years old and this exhibition celebrates their deeply important role in our environment
which often goes unseen.
Paintings will be accompanied by poetry and soundscapes.
