The grey-headed flying fox can travel up to 50 kilometres each night in search of food. They feed on pollen, nectar and fruit. In particular they love figs – this is why they are commonly referred to as ‘fruit bats’. As well as feeding, the flying foxes are also pollinating the native forests and spreading seeds to ensure the longevity of the bushland.
