Autumn
The boys in Reception have had great fun this week being ‘autumn detectives’
on our autumn walks. At the beginning of the week we learnt about the
season ‘autumn’ and so we were looking out to find signs to tell us autumn was
here!
We walked through fallen crisp leaves and listened out for the noises they
made; “crunching” and “rustling”. We also found lots of smooth, shiny conkers
and their prickly shells on the ground. The squirrels had already been busy
collecting up all the acorns as we could only find one shell! The leaves were
falling all around us as the wind blew them everywhere- we had so much fun!

This weeks Talk Homework: You are a fly on the wall. Who’s wall
(it can be a real or fictional characters wall) and why?
What can you see and hear?

We have been reading the book ‘An Enormous Turnip' this week in T2 and
acting out 'pulling' it out of the ground. We used papier mâché to make
our own enormous turnip.
We have also been weighing conkers, pumpkins and butternut squash to
see which is heaviest and lightest.
