The AS 615 operates by emitting two laser fields beneath the sensorto scan both the roadway and the vehicles passing through the eye-safelaser.Thesystemcanbeconfiguredforopenroadortollbarrierapplicationsandissensitiveenoughtodetecttowbarsandmotorcycles.Classificationisdeterminedbythevehicle’sdimensionalcharacteristicsaswellasdetectionoftowbars.

TheAS615isanidealreplacementforbothlightcurtainsandmagneticloopsinbarrierlaneapplications.Inaddition,whendeployedinopenroadapplications,theAS615providesfullvehicleclassificationinformation,eitherindependentlyorinconcertwithothersensors,inordertoensureappropriateapplicationoftollrates.

Like itspredecessor, theAutoSense II,the AS 615 isdesigned tobemountedoverhead in order to provide tollingand traffic management agencies withvehicle detection, separation, speed,and classification information. Inaddition, theAS615canbeconfiguredtotriggerenforcementcameras.
