Dynamic DimensionsAs you make design changes, benefi t from dynamic dimensions so that the changes are precise and accurate. Dynamic dimensions facilitate “heads-up” design, helping you stay focused and productive.

Edit-in-ViewEasily work on a specifi c portion of your design in a view other than plan. Autodesk Building Systems streamlines this process with tools that are easily accessible through right-click menu options.

Electrical CircuitsMinimize errors in your electrical design by using circuits to track properties such as load, number of attached devices, and length. Defi ne voltage ranges to test compatibility of electrical connections, thus preventing overloads. Calculate the estimated demand loads on feeders and panels to size equipment quickly and effi ciently directly in your design. And take advantage of circuit analysis tools to quickly total loads and generate reports for accurate documentation.

Electrical Devices and PanelsQuickly and easily lay out the basic circuitry for your project by placing devices on defi ned circuits, and associating the circuits with a panel creating logical relationships in your electrical design. Add devices in 2D while producing 3D representations of the devices for an accurate model.

Engineering Spaces and ZonesAutomatically generate engineering spaces from 2D architectural fl oor plans or design drawings to produce room information, complete with square footage and volumes, and new gross and useable areas. By defi ning loads, design temperatures, and airfl ow rates, and grouping into zones, you can eliminate the need to manually transfer design data for load calculations and building energy analysis.

Heads-Up DesignAn enhanced workspace moves tooltips, dimension input, and command information from the command line to the graphic interface, so you can focus on your design.

Isometric and Plan SchematicsQuickly produce schematics and riser diagrams, without the hassles of trimming lines and rotating blocks, with a customizable collection of 2Dschematic lines and symbols, and automated tools for easy creation and modifi cation.

Mass ElementsMass elements help to streamline content creation. Take advantage of standard shapes and freeform modeling tools to model unique parts and quickly convert a mass element into a part with smart connectors for integration into a design.

One-Line Duct DesignLay out your systems in one-line with unsized parts and quickly convert your layout to a 3D -sized system. Benefi t from connectivity enhancements between objects to connect unsized portions of your layout to sized portions when design specifi cations are yet to be established for the project.

Object ConversionsFlexible design options enhance design productivity by enabling you to more easily convert object types, such as a line to a schematic pipe or a polyline to a fl ex duct. Access these conversion tools from context-sensitive menus for ease of use.

Project StandardsMaintain consistency in your project standards with the ability to establish, maintain, and synchronize styles, display settings, and tools across an Autodesk Building Systems project. The project is synchronized with standards throughout the design and documentation process, so that project data is always up to date.

Sections and ElevationsStyle-based sections and elevations remain consistent with your project. When you make a change in your design, sections and elevations update automatically, saving time and helping ensure the accuracy of your data. Take advantage of live sections that provide a good way to work on a limited area of a large model. Each design change is refl ected in real time in your designs, minimizing tedious manual updates.

Setup and Deployment OptionsMore fl exible setup and deployment options provide the consistent standardization and management of software installations for both network and single-user installations. And through the use of profi le-based shortcuts, a license can now automatically default to specifi ed template drawings when the software is opened.

Style ManagerThe Style Manager provides a central location for easily managing an extensive library of styles. Easily copy styles from one drawing to another, or create custom styles that suit your project standards. And now you can take advantage of version history to keep track of style changes.

SystemsProvide a fast and consistent method for laying out parts that represent real-world building systems, such as air supply or return systems. When you use systems during design layout, new parts inherit the current system’s defaults, such as rise drop symbology and display properties, and you can apply changes simultaneously to all connected parts. And since Autodesk Building Systems manages layers, systems can be assigned to layers helping ensure the accuracy of your designs. Additional content in this release provides support for new system types.

Tool PalettesEnsure that all team members have the right tools for the job. When you are working on a project, you can assign a project-specifi c set of tool palettes and a project-specifi c Content Browser library to it. This provides consistency across project drawings by removing unnecessary content from the palettes and the Content Browser. Now you can modify multiple tools on a tool palette at the same time. Simply select the tools you want to change and modify the common properties at once, streamlining the design process and improving productivity.

TooltipsTooltips give instant onscreen feedback for object properties, such as size and shape, as well as design information, such as elevation or system. This release introduces tooltips that work through external reference fi les.

WiringGraphically show the circuit path connecting electrical components, such as devices and panels, while automatically creating circuits on the fl y during layout. Optional wiring display, with improved layout methods, helps you avoid clutter in your construction documents for clearer presentation.
