STEP 1) INSTALL VALVE

a) Water supply pressures should not exceed acceptable levels when connected to the pool plumbing. Install pressure regulators where needed.

b) Be sure to install back flow prevention devices when local codes require it.

NOTE: To avoid overfilling very small ponds or water features be sure to turn the flow control almost to the off position on the Valve. If you need more makeup water you can open the flow control valve as needed.

STEP 2) INSTALL THE VALVE CONTROLLER

a) Mount Valve Controller near a power supply in a covered area out of direct rain and sun exposure.

b) Connect the two bare wire ends from the Valve Controller to the Valve wires using the wire nuts.

c) Mount and plug in the Power Transformer and connect it to the Valve Controller.

d) Ready the Valve Controller for pairing by placing the magnet on the Valve Controller so that it covers the checkered box. Hold it there for 45 seconds. Observe that the RED light activates. After 45 seconds remove the magnet to start Pairing Mode. You are in Pairing Mode when the RED and GREEN blink in sequence.

STEP 3) MOUNT .THE ANTENNA

a) Run Antenna Wire so the TIP is placed as high as possible to pick up the radio signal. Line of sight is recommended but not required. Metal fencing, metallic obstructions, metal framed buildings, and stucco type building structures with wire mesh or metallic materials can severely degrade antenna performance.

The Valve Controller has 3 LED lights:

• ALARM

• ACTION • SENSOR

NOTE: the red ‘ALARM’ LED light flickers when the magnetic switch is activated

a) Choose a location to mount the Level Sensor where the sensor will be in contact with the pool water when the water level is at desired fill level. The best sensing area is from the bottom edge of the level sensor to about 1” from the bottom edge of the level sensor (refer to Level Sensor image, after Step 4d). It is best to mount the level sensor facing the Valve Controllers Antenna location.

STEP 4) MOUNT THE LEVEL SENSOR

* TEST SIGNAL FROM THE MOUNTING LOCATION OF THE LEVEL SENSOR. TEMPORARILY MOUNT THE LEVEL SENSOR TO SEE IF IT PAIRS WITH THE VALVE CONTROLLER IN THE PREFERRED LOCATION. FOLLOW STEP 5 TO TEST SIGNAL BEFORE PERMANENTLY MOUNTING THE LEVEL SENSOR

* AVOID MOUNTING THE LEVEL SENSOR NEAR ANY WATER FALL OR WATER FEATURE

STEP 5) PAIR AND CALIBRATE THE LEVEL SENSOR WITH THE VALVE CONTROLLER

a) Make sure that you have the Valve Controller in pairing mode as directed in STEP 2 (d)

b) Place the magnet on the right side of the face of the level sensor. Hold it there for at least 30 seconds and remove it. This will start the pairing process and will also calibrate the level sensor to the current water level.

c) The LED lights on the Valve Controller will flash if you have reset the Level Sensor and are recieving signals from it. The LED will illuminate each time a signal is received from the sensor.

The complete pairing sequence and calibration of the Level Sensor SET Level can be observed at the Valve Controller.

- 30 flashes, 1 second apart then 16 flashes, 8 seconds apart.

At the end of the pairing process a single green SENSOR LED light on indicates a successful installation.

NOTE: You must move the Antenna tip to a better location if the following are observed#1.) The Valve Controller LED lights start scanning again, OR,

#2.) The green SENSOR LED light remains off. If this happens: Unplug valve controller from the power supply and move antenna into a better or different position and then plug back in. Then reset the Level Sensor using the magnet to begin the paring and calibration process again.

}NOTE: A dry or submerged Sensor will NOT calibrate !!!

For best performance make sure the water level is within this area during pairing and calibration

Place the MagnetHERE for at least30 secondsto reset the sensorand to start pairing

Light blinks whenmagnet is removed

STEP 4) MOUNT THE LEVEL SENSOR (continued)

b) Scrub and clean the pool area where you will be mounting the Level Sensor.

c) Knead the A-B epoxy stick to ensure both parts are mixed well and quickly spread the mixed epoxy over the rear surface of the Level Sensor.

d) Hold sensor firmly in place for at least 2 minutes.

SUCCESSFUL OPERATION QUICK CHECK

THE ANTENNA IS IN A GOOD POSITION IF The green SENSOR LED light is illuminated

MOVE ANTENNA TIP TO A BETTER LOCATION IF The RED “ALARM” LED is flashing ...

After moving the antenna tip to a better location re-pair the system. See STEP 5.

THE VALVE POWER IS ON WHEN The ‘ACTION’ LED light illuminates

HINT: Use the Magnet to check the Valve actuation by placing it on the checkered box for 3 seconds.

PAIRING THE SENSOR

The Valve Controller has a box on the face to show where to place the magnet to activate a magnetic switch. The red ‘ALARM’ LED light will flicker when the magnet activates the switch. The magnet can be used to put the Valve Controller into “pairing mode”. Hold the magnet on for more than 41 seconds. Use the same magnet to reset the level of the Level Sensor or to re-pair.

To reset the Level Sensor you will need to place the magnet upon the right face of the Level Sensor (as shown on page 3) so it will turn the system off. Hold the magnet there for 30 seconds. Remove the magnet and observe the LEDs flash in sequence. It will now pair and reset the sensor water level. You can follow the pairing sequence on the Valve Controller lights. The scanning of lights on the Valve Controller will stop once the Level Sensor starts to send pairing data.

RESET THE WATER LEVEL on the level sensor:

With the water at the best level on the level sensor, place the magnet on the right-hand face of the level sensor. Refer to image on Page 3 for best level and magnet placement. Hold the magnet in place for at least 30 seconds and then remove it. Upon removal of the magnet there will be a light flash in the top center edge to indicate reset. If the Valve Controller was in pairing mode prior to resetting the level sensor, you can observe the Valve Controller lights to see sensor activity. The sensor will send 30 pairing signals, at one second intervals. This will be followed by 8 calibration signals, sixteen seconds apart.

TESTING THE VALVE:

Placing the magnet onto the Valve Controller’s face will activate the red ‘ALARM’ LED light. When you remove the magnet the valve circuit will be energized for five (5) seconds.

You will see the ‘ACTION’ LED light for five (5) seconds when power is applied to the valve circuit. When applying power to the Valve Controller, or when testing the valve, be sure the valve circuit wires are not shorted together.

SETTING THE FLOW RATE:

To calculate gallons delivered every hour, if needed, multiply the gallons per minute by 7 minutes.

To increase the flow rate twist the flow control valve counter-clockwise. To reduce the flow rate twist valve clockwise. For typical 20,000 gallon pool start with a flow rate that is ¼ turn open from all the way closed.
