    Effects of CO

Forms carboxyhemoglobin with hemoglobin(combining capacity 50 times more than oxygen).

Reduces oxygen delivery to bodys tissues andorgans.

At low levels, it affects people with cardiovasculardiseases.

At high levels, it is poisonous to everyone.

Auto Exhaust Analyzer It is an instrument which is used to measure the

amount of Carbon Mono Oxide and Hydro Carbons.

Carbon Mono Oxide is measured in terms ofpercentage volume with reference to a span gas whichis filled initially and the instrument is calibratedaccordingly.

Hydro Carbons are measured in PPM.

Working principle It based on the principle ofNon-Dispersive Infrared

    ray structure(Double beam type).

It makes internal pressure in the left detector higherthan one in the right detector.

By blocking the ray, the pressure in both detectors isequalized.

The changing volume of absorbing infrared ray isdetected.
