• Both met service requirements – neither had circulation functionality
• Pricing similar • Presentations from VDX & Relais
VDX Decision
• Confidence in after-sales service• Same product as LADD – familiarity of
systems – less training involved• Known interoperability with ArticleReach• OCLC – administers updates • Excellent references from industry• Long term - WorldShareILL
Good and Bad
• Project manager for contracts and IT• Web design assistance – instructions and
webpage• Double-check - don’t assume test systems
will be replicated in live system • Ensure budget includes in-house ‘release’• Get the right IT people involved
