Australian National Championships 19 November 2016

Coomera Sports Centre (Gold Coast). This was the setting for the GKR Karate Australian National Championships for 2016! Over 600 Competitors who had to qualify for the event turned up to find out who was the best of the best across Australasia. The team events kicked off the day with a high standard of Karateka in both the Kata and the Kumite, with lots more to come throughout the day from all divisions and age groups. It was inspiring to see many of the junior grades and ages, display such great attitudes and etiquette. GKR’s future is in great hands as these people grow in both karate and life. The event ran smoothly from start to finish with the help from the Tournament Administration people who kept the rings busy with their divisions. I would like to thank all the Referees and Judges, Table Administration, Managers and St Johns First Aid for helping make the tournament a fantastic event. Also the competitors and families who made the journey to compete and support each other.
