Presented by: Forest Industry Engineering Association, a division of Innovatek Ltd

www.woodinnovations.events

Why Wood Innovations 2016? Over 220 wood treatment and timber manufacturing companies participated in the last Forest Industry Engineering Association Wood Innovations event. It ran in both New Zealand and Australia in mid-September 2014. Feedback to the series was overwhelming.

Alternate wood products to timber treated with wood preservatives are increasingly making themselves known in the marketplace. Wood plastic composites and modified wood products are a commercial reality, are already being produced in commercial quantities locally and can offer a genuine alternative to more traditional treated timber products.

The global wood plastic composites market for example is expected to reach US$5.4 billion in 2019, expanding at a compounded annual growth rate of around 11% over the next four years. The greatest growth for these products is being projected to be in the Asia Pacific region.

The scope for expansion for existing wood producers or new businesses is considerable. With a raft of new technologies, research and operations that have been set up over the last two years, Wood Innovations 2016 will provide local companies with a timely insight into new timber preservatives, wood modification processes, composite and engineered wood technologies.

Who will be attending ?

•Timber treatment operations

•Sawmill, wood manufacturing and wood panels companies

•Suppliers of treatment chemicals, glues, equipment and services

•Timber R&D personnel

•Wood products and environmental consultants

•Government Departments advising on timber building and construction
