Austin’s $130M Library(8 floors high; LEED Certified Building)
Pix taken by Phil Andrews
April 4, 2018
Our Host: Heidi Tse
The Library was met with some
resistance from narrow-minded
people that saw this as a frivolous undertaking.
In reality this a showcase and a
“magnet” for the City Of Austin!!!
The garden is on the top floor.
3-D Printing(Makerspace
capability)
LCD Screen as a table top
High Tech “Petting
Zoo”
Renting laptops
The Library has special (and free) conference
rooms for entrepreneurs (to brainstorm), (free) other amenities, incl.
desks and computers (on top of the Makerspace
equipment).
In a way, it behaves as an Incubator.

Both of those pix depict some of the Sustainability Program efforts to reduce the effects of direct sun light.
Misc. Views Of Downtown From The Library
Certain streets became narrower, in order to
make more room for bike trails and bike parking.
This is one way todiscourage people
driving in certain parts ofthe city and encouragingpeople to use bikes andmass transit means to
get around.
