The Marriage Course is one of those resources that helps us make our marriages stronger and healthier by focusing on issues that we may not want, have the time, or the skills to address. During the seven-week course, couples gather around a romantic table-for-two, surrounded by warm ambiance, good food and soothing music. We spend time watching a video presentation on important topics that we all deal with in our marriages, followed by time for you and your partner to discuss the topic intimately in greater detail.

Not sure if it’s right for you? Come to The Marriage Course Party where you’ll get a taste of what the Course is about. You won’t regret it.

You can sign up for one or both at truroanglican .com/marriagecourse .

True Community (continued)

On Sun, Sep 7, our Fall Kick Off, there will be opportunities to sign up and get involved in the various communities at Truro. Come and find out more on the day!

We’re also continuing to build Amore Groups, and looking for ways for our Home Groups to partner with them in the mission of learning to reach out to our own neighborhoods and building True Community. Building vibrant communities is always a somewhat messy business, and it requires a lot of patience and grace from all of us! It’s always journey, and never a perfect process! But there will be many ways to get involved and a lot to look forward to in the coming months.

For more info on Amore Groups, email Hannah King, hking@truroanglican .com . and on Home Groups, email Brandie Fitzgerald, bfitzgerald@truroanglican .com .

MISSIONS

Love the World Fellowship: Are You Called to Serve?Love The World Fellowship (LWF) has been meeting at Truro on Sundays since January 2008. We are a church and a worshipping community for the poor.

Sunday meetings begin at 12:45 pm and conclude at 3:00 pm. Additionally, there is the option of a Christian Recovery Group which meets from 12:00 – 1:00 pm.

We are grateful to Truro Anglican for giving up “prime time” space, thereby allowing us the opportunity to meet. For the acts of kindness extended to our members and given through your smiles, encouraging words, hands extended in friendship and the valuable commodity of your time, we are, indeed, grateful.

To see a list of ways you can serve go to The City, bit .ly/XzbYnQ or contact Bobbie Yates at 703 .314 .7805 or Jack Maier at 703 .250 .9094 .

Mission Partner SnapShot: Sanctity of Life Ministries, Stan Kellner, DirectorIn a recent update, Sanctity of Life Ministries Director Stan Kellner writes…

“A number of clients lit up inside when they saw their baby for the first time on an ultrasound screen. We never take for granted how much of a breakthrough it was for centers like ours to become medical and add the key component of ultrasound screening.

We’re always amazed by the diversity of people that God brings to us. For example, a woman in a full berka came in this past month and while she didn’t come to Christ, she was exposed to the gospel in a very clear way. I’ve probably said this before, but we have a very regular flow of Muslim clients from nations all over the globe!

Thanks SO much for your partnership in the ministry.”

Thanks be to God for the work and witness of this vital ministry in our community! —Coleman Tyler, Director of Outreach and Pastoral Care

A to Z: Truro Alpha to Zanzibar! Our hoped-for Global Alpha Training (GAT) trip to Zanzibar, East Africa this fall is now becoming a reality from October 6 – 15. Our six-member team is in place, and air tickets (big discount price!) have been purchased. Team members are: John Grimsley, Tony Niles, Charles and Kathy Strother, Missy Temme, and Coleman Tyler. We’ll be going to serve with Truro mission partners Jerry and Stacy Kramer, doing 2 – 3 days of GAT ministry, along with some service/ministry projects being planned by the Kramers (who will be visiting Truro next week). Stay tuned for more details to follow!

Youth Alpha (continued)

God—life—faith—what’s the point of it all?

There’s a brand-new film series just for Youth Alpha. We’ll be using it on Thursday nights starting Sep 18. Whether you have some faith or no faith, whether you go to church or have never been in one, if you’re in middle or high school, Youth Alpha is for you.

Check out the first session and see what you think—no pressure . More info at truroanglican .com/alpha.

Praying (continued)

“Last night’s prayer meeting was just beautiful. There was just such a sweetness about it and God’s presence was so real. It just felt like heaven was touching Truro at that time. Tim … I hope more people come and it continues to build. It’s a great thing to call our church to pray.”

“Dearest Ones, Just a note to say there is a wonderful sense of "peace" since I attended today's prayer service. A burden is lifted! Praise God and "thank you" with all my heart!”

We will do it all again this Wednesday—seeking God’s face, seeking God’s blessing!

Tim's Top Tips for Inviting Someone to Alpha! Are you carrying around some of our Alpha business cards? They've got all the info about our Fri, Sep 19 Alpha Party. When you go out to run errands, ask the Lord to open your eyes to opportunities to invite the people you meet at the grocery store, at work, at the gym, at a soccer game, or

wherever you are. Use your cards to invite people to the Party—not for the whole course, that's a bit too much for a first meeting! The Party is fun, low-key, and no pressure—anyone will feel welcome!
