Second Collection This Weekend The second collection this weekend is for the Society of the Propagation of the Faith’s Annual Collection. We

welcome Father Reynie Paraon, a Priest of the Diocese of Gumaca, Phillipines, who will speak at all Masses. This

collection will assist the Diocese of Gumaca in their efforts to teach the Catholic Faith by establishing small

communities, training lay leaders, providing ongoing formation for those already in parishes, assisting with the

pastoral care of those in need and assisting the Priests of the Diocese, especially those who are sick and

hospitalized. Please be as generous as your means allow. Thank you.

Church and Parish Hall Handicapped Ramps

Both of our handicapped ramps are in need of major repair and need to be addressed before the coming

winter. Work has begun on the Parish Hall ramp. The ramp will not be available for the next month, but

the front steps to the Hall are still usable. You may also use the kitchen entrance to the Hall, but then

remember there is a set of stairs to come down into the main open space. The new ramp will be

positioned in such a way to be in compliance with code regulations. The work on the Church ramp has

also begun with the pouring of new concrete sidewalk sections. The Church ramp is now no longer

accessible for the next few weeks. The new ramp will be wider than the present one. The material to

be used on both ramps will be pressure-treated AZEK decking. The railings will be made of wrought iron

matching the railings on the Church steps for the Church ramp and wrought iron matching the railings on

the Hall steps for the Hall ramp. Temporary wood railings will be used until the wrought iron ones are

fabricated and installed. Once again, thank you for your patience and cooperation during this

construction time.

UNCLE AL’S THRIFT SHOP

Have you noticed the current Uncle Al’s window display? Wow! You may wonder how the window can so

consistently portray the season or holiday or happenings in our village and town. And where do we get such

appropriate props? Well, window displays are actually planned months ahead of time, and everything in the

window has been donated! Some of what you see now may have been donated months ago and put aside with

the mid to late July window display in mind. Several talented Uncle Al’s volunteers pull it all together and create

the amazing displays right down to the last detail.

Not everyone has the gift to be able to attractively decorate a window, but as volunteers we all have something

to offer! Like interacting with people? You’d be a great cashier! Kind of obsessive/compulsive about neatness?

Uncle Al’s can really use you to keep the clothing area organized. Have a good eye for spotting small

imperfections? Checking and pricing would be perfect for you. See what we mean? Just as we can offer a

schedule to fit your schedule, we can guide you to the task that suits you best. Give it some thought, stop in at

Uncle Al’s and chat with some of the volunteers. This is another great way to support our Parish.

Uncle Al’s is open Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday from 10:00am to 4:00pm.

All proceeds benefit St. Joseph-Immaculate Conception Church.
