Adult Faith Formation - Book Review
Join us this August to discuss the book One, Holy,
Catholic and Apostolic by Kenneth D. Whitehead.
This book contains lots of historical facts and figures.
However, your focus while reading should be on the
“big picture” questions, such as “What do Catholics
believe?” and “Why do they believe it?”
Fr. Patrick will be leading a discussion group in
August on this book (Date tbd). If interested in
obtaining a copy of the book to read to prepare for
the book discussion, please contact the office at 781
-944-0330. For any questions please contact Maria
Blewitt at [email protected] or 617-640-
0458.

St. Joseph’s Medford Parish Concert We will be presenting our annual Parish Concert here
at St. Joseph's in Medford, on Sunday afternoon,
October 18th, at 2PM. Our adult and youth choirs
and our young adult music group will be performing,
accompanied by organ/piano and instrumentalists,
and there will be vocal and instrumental solos as
well. There will be refreshments in the social center
following the concert.
We are very much hoping that some of the folks
from our neighboring parishes will be able to join
together with our music ministry for this special
event.
We are able to accommodate a limited number of
guest singers on a “first come, first served” basis, and
I would be delighted if you and/or any of the
members of your choir might like to sing with our
adult choir for this special program.
The rehearsal schedule is as follows:
Thursday evening, August 20th, at 7pm
Thursday evenings, September 10th, 17th, 24th at
7pm
October 1st, 8th, 15th, at 7pm
Summer rehearsals are on the stage in the social
center (adjacent to the church), and fall rehearsals
are in the choir loft.
I know that some of you have your own choir
commitments on Thursday evenings, but, even if you
would be able to attend some of the rehearsals - and
do a little practicing on your own, as well! - we would
still be delighted to have you join us.
For further information, or if you should have any
questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me at 617
-335-8155 or at [email protected] .
In any event, even if you are not able to sing with us
this time, we would be delighted if you are able to
attend the concert, and would be most grateful if
you would please help us to "spread the word" about
the concert to your family members and friends!
A Word of Thanks from John Silva
