I've had the wonderful
opportunity to serve as a
counselor at our Middle School
and High School Camp this
week.
It has been an exhilarating
and exhausting time and I am
grateful for it.
As a counselor I have a small
group that I get to lead with
another adult. During one of
our small group times we were
talking about Jacob and Esau
and there was a moment of
revelation for the kids when
they saw, perhaps for the first
time, that the people in the
Bible are imperfect; and at
times very bad.
For kids in adolescence
sometimes all they are
hearing, or always focusing on,
is what they are doing wrong
and how far they fall short of
expectations. Hearing that
Jacob, Isaac, Abraham, Sarah,
Noah, Moses, Jonah, and
many others fall short as well,
can be empowering. Faithful
living is not about perfection
but rather seeking God;
realizing this is one of many
important steps to a faithful
life.
I am so thankful to be here
where I can be a part of these
moments where the Spirit of
God makes itself known.
I hope you'll forgive a short
article this month. The lunch
bell just rang. Gotta go!
Peace,
From the Pastor

together and basting with pins. There
are 6-7 quilts to complete, and a few of
them are twin size or slightly larger.
The group is also open to those with
general sewing interests. Machines are
available for your use, and Teri has lots
of experience doing garment sewing,
making bags and purses, crafting, and
other projects.
Don’t know how to sew? We can
teach you! All skill levels welcome.
Please contact Teri Riordan if
interested.
Teri Riordan leads the Mary Martha
Quilting and Sewing Group, which
meets on the first and third Tuesdays
of the month at 11:00 am, though our
schedule can be flexible if a different
day or time works better for you.
The group is currently completing
quilts using donated quilt tops and
those made by members who can no
longer attend.
Teri says she could always use some
help sandwiching the quilt tops
together. This entails putting the back
of the quilt, the batting, and quilt top
