Ohio’s Infrastructure and Its Future P lease join us at our August 24th luncheon to discuss Ohio’s Infrastructure and Its Future! Our speaker is Jerry Wray, Director of the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT), who will share updates and what is next for improving Ohio’s infrastructure. The first head of the agency to be named to the post twice in ODOT’s 100-plus year history, Jerry Wray served as director under Governor Voinovich from 1991to 1999. Reappointed by Governor John Kasich in 2010, he is one of the longest serving state DOT directors in the nation’s history. During his first term, ODOT improved its project management processes and increased its construction program to record levels while significantly reducing operating expenses. In the 21st Century, Director Wray and ODOT are committed to maintaining and improving transportation infrastructure through efficient and effective organization and the use of innovative financial tools. We will be having our luncheon at the Courtyard Columbus West, 2350 Westbelt Drive, Columbus, OH 43228. This hotel is located at the I-270 and Roberts Road exit. The luncheon is from 11:30-1:00 and reservations are required and need to be made by August 21 online or by calling the office, 614.876.7666. Open to the public. The tastiest summer event in Hilliard will

be back again this year on Wednesday, August 8th. The Taste of Hilliard & Business Expo, organized

by the Hilliard Area Chamber of Commerce, will feature around 80 area businesses and restaurants and provide our residents the opportunity to interact with and sample the many businesses and restaurants the Hilliard area has to offer. This premier tasting event has become more popular every year and is one of the ‘have-to’ events to attend in the Hilliard area. It will take place on Wednesday, August 8th from 4:30pm to 7:30pm at the Makoy Center, 5462 Center Street.

An admission fee of $15 cash per person and $5 cash for ages 10 and under will give you the opportunity to sample all 30-restaurant offerings. Cash bars will be available in both rooms of the event.

You will be able to vote for your favorite appetizer, entrée, pizza, ice cream and dessert. Guests will be provided with a passport, which if filled out by the end of the event, will be entered into a raffle drawing for a $100 cash prize.

TEDxHilliard on August 15

The third annual TEDxHilliard is slated for Wednesday,

August 15, 2018 at Hilliard Bradley Performing Arts Center, 2800 Walker Road. Doors open at 5:00 p.m. Speaker and artist presentations begin at 6:00 pm and end at 9:30 pm. The theme for this year’s event is “Pathways”. Hilliard Chamber members can save $10 on the price of admission by going through our website, www.hilliardchamber.org This will be a great event so don’t miss it!
