Our summer begins to close, quite rainy in July, and it gave us something to complain about without a lot of looking. But really we needed the rain, it also provides the opportunity to remember Gods promise to not destroy the whole earth, and we rejoice in each rainbow we see. One of His big promises is salvation to all who believe. So, we are all good but what about the rest of the world. Go, a straight forward command not to stay put. Teaching all nations, wow, no way, thats too big, really with God something is too big? A little porthole in the rear of the church reaches France, New York state, Ohio and The Ohio State University. Also folks right here in Florida. We, you and me are going out into the world with the message of Christ. Now we need to tell everyone. Friends, relatives, or just people you meet. We are the great commission, we are the goer outers. Through a camera in the back of the church, how great it would be if our Bible classes were also on the web and viewable by 10’s or hundreds or maybe someday thousands. Thats a real achievable goal for our congregation. As we come to the fall and the beginning of another year of Bible classes let s attend physically, when able, online when we can. The church is us, you and me in action. So pray for Gods guidance, His divine intervention into what we should do. And pray that we follow His leading. This will take place at Tom Varn Park and meet right in the parking lot across from Luigis restaurant in Brooksville. We will start with 3/7 minute intervals and work our way to 7/7 minute intervals. We walk 5 minutes at a brisk pace, then walk one minute as fast as we are able, then slowly walk for one minute to catch our wind. Then again, doing three of these together will be 21 minutes of quality cardio-vascular exercise. We will keep our progress so we can see how we are all doing. The goal is NOT DISTANCE, but time of exercise. If participants do this two other times a week on their own, wow will we see and feel results. Our summer begins to close, quite rainy in July, and it gave us something to complain about without a lot of looking. But really we needed the rain, it also provides the opportunity to remember God’s promise to not destroy the whole earth, and we rejoice in each rainbow we see. One of His big promises is salvation to all who believe. So, we are all good but what about the rest of the world. Go, a straight forward command not

Our bible study will again begin in September on the 4th and we hope to be online with this class. We will be using Tyndale House’s New Living Translation in a reading course “I M M E R S E” The Reading Bible.” We begin appropriately at the Gospel of St. Luke through Revelation and short daily readings are given so we can discuss them on Tuesday nights. Each section takes 8 weeks of time. I will moderate a group Bible discus-sion rather than teaching and bringing new things to light. The books have nothing but the word of God no chapters, not verses, no footnotes nothing but the translated Word of God. And our discussions will be along the lines of “what did this section say to you.” Different portions of the Bible can hit each of us differently and then how knowing this will you apply this to your life. There will be no real right or wrong answers and we might all enlighten each other throughout the study. I have already started. I need to get ahead, and I am finding it refreshingly different. So I hope you will plan to join us in person or on the internet. The first 8 week book of Luke through Revelation is entitled Messiah and the cost is $13.50 each and we get free shipping on orders over $35.00, so again a sign up to order the books will be in the Narthex so we can order the Books by the end of the second week in August to ensure we have the books. Please consider studying with us either here or through the internet. Our Motto, “Reach, Teach and Preach” let’s keep it a reality. Pastor Meseke

Game Night

Game Night is here at Christ Lutheran Church August 3rd and is on the 1st Friday night of each month @ 7 pm. Domino’s, Pinochle, or what would you like to play with others here at church? Come and enjoy a fun evening of fellowship.

Dartball Group Dartball will be here on Saturday August 11th at 9am. No experience required. You will be shown how to throw a dart, and learn that “experience” players still have trouble getting on bases. Come and enjoy a fun morning in the Fellowship Hall and join the group afterwards for lunch.

LWML / Mary Martha The LWML/Mary Martha group will resume meeting in September.

49er’s

The 49er’s will resume meeting in September.

The Happy Sew N’ Sews Our Jelly Roll Race was a big success because we ended up making a nice pile of lap quilts to be shared with those who must be in care facilities. Our next get together will be August 16th, 9-11:30 am in the Fellowship Hall. Join us if you can! If you have yarn that you are no longer using—our supply is low!

The Mission Board "Mission of the Month” The mission board is supporting the Wasmund family for the month of August. Matt and Dee Dee Wasmund, along with their daughters, Lily and Olivia, live in Seoul, South Korea, where Matt serves as the Strategic Volunteer Coordinator for East Asia for The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS). In this role, Matt connects with the individuals serving as GEO (globally engaged in outreach) missionaries in South Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Thailand in order to support ministries that touch the lives of hundreds of students of all ages.
