Important Information
Our annual transportation day is scheduled
for Wed, August 23rd. Kona Ice will be
visiting this day; however there will be no
charge for Kona Ice on this day. The children
will be able to tour all the vehicles and then
finish up with a Kona Ice as a special treat
before they come back inside.
Our last splash say is scheduled for Friday,
September 1st. This is the last Friday of the
summer before the fall schedules start.
Children in the waddler room: Please make
sure that your child has shoes. They do go
outside twice a day and will need shoes for
the playground. See the front desk or Miss.
Rachel if you have any questions regarding
this.
As summer ends and fall begins we would
like to remind everyone that we do go
through a shift in schedule changes for our
teachers/staff as well as children’s schedules.
As fall approaches, we would like to let you
know that we will be adding some more
amazing teachers to our team. Our college
girl’s schedules will be starting in the fall
and we will be hiring people to help fill in
those days and times when they cannot work.
We go through a very extensive hiring
process and training when new teachers start.
Please welcome our new teachers when you
see them. Please see the front desk if you
have any questions.
As a reminder: if your family has multiple
people picking up on a regular basis they will
need a key fob. For security purposes, key
fobs can only be issued to parents. However,
you may request a key fob be put into
someone’s name. Each person must have the
key fob assigned to them. If there is someone
picking up your child occasionally, directors
can let them in. Please make sure that you let
them know to bring in their picture ID. There
may be several times that they are asked for a
picture ID until everyone at the front desk is
familiar with their face. This is for the safety
and security of everyone.
Swartz Creek Schools have open enrollment
until August 10th. If you are out of district
and would like your child to attend Swartz
Creek Schools, please see the front desk. We do have registration forms at the front that
will help. We can let you know where to go
and how to get enrolled.
Labor Day Holiday As a friendly reminder, Brandi’s Place is closed on Monday,
Sept 4th for the Labor Day holiday. Families that do not have a
set schedule (same days every week) will still be responsible for
the regular number of days that your child usually attends. If
your child’s regular attendance day is Monday every week,
your tuition will be adjusted to reflect that day off.
Financially

Family Picnic Our family picnic is scheduled for Friday, August 11th from 9 to 11am.
This is open to all of our families enrolled here at Brandi’s Place. This
is our “Thank You” to all of you for letting us care for your little one(s).
We will have a petting zoo, pony rides, Kona Ice, yard games and even
a “dunk a teacher” dunk tank.
We will be serving hot dogs, chips, cookies and water or lemonade for
lunch. This is for everyone.
Kona Ice does have a charge of $2 per person. If you plan to attend
please do not turn money in to the front desk for this. If you cannot
attend, please plan to turn money in to the front desk if you would like
your child to participate in this. Money is then given to teachers.
Dunk a teacher is $1 for 3 balls. ALL proceeds will go directly back to
the teachers for their classrooms. We understand that some parents or families may not be able to make it to this
event. Please know that EVERY child will still be able to enjoy the fun
festivities outside.
If your child is not normally here on Fridays, please feel free to stop in and
enjoy the fun and have lunch with us if you would like.
Attached you will find an RSVP form as well as all information about our
family picnic. Please see the front desk if you have any questions.

Last 2 Weeks of Summer Themes We always end the summer with Spirit Week and then of course the very last week is “Anything Goes!” This is teacher and kid’s choice for this week. Anything that they want to do again that they did over the summer they can do again during this week. Our Spirit Week has different themes for each day. This is a fun way to celebrate and be creative! (See Page 1 for Spirit Week days or the center calendar)
Kona Ice Visits & Money Anyone participating in Kona Ice will need
to have their money turned in to the front
desk. Directors provide teachers with a list
of names and the money to take out to the
Kona Ice truck when it is their time. We do
not check backpacks, pockets or ask the
children if they have money. We try to be
discreet for anyone that may not be
participating. Please turn in money to the
front desk if your child will be participating
when Kona Ice visits. This will help us and
make sure that no one is forgotten about.
We apologize for any inconvenience and
thank you for your help with this.
Mary Poppins
(SC Center Stage) We would like to thank the Swartz Creek
Center Stage for visiting with us during the
last week in July. The characters came and
visited with the kids and sang “A spoon full
of sugar” with all of them. They absolutely
loved it!
Performances are on August 4, 5, 11 & 12th
at 7pm and on August 6th at 3pm. Visit
www.scrkpac.org for more information.
August Summer Camp Themes
Below you will find the weekly themes for the month of August.
Themes will also posted every Monday morning on our Facebook
page. We have so many fun projects, games, activities, etc. for our
Summer Camp children every day. Daily activities are posted in the
classroom on the curriculum sheet as well as our monthly calendar.
All classrooms will have the same theme and the younger rooms are
planning some fun projects as well. Our younger classrooms are even
participating in some of the weekly games! So far everyone is having a
blast! Watch our Facebook page as we will try to post pictures
throughout the summer so you can see all the fun we are having!

Latchkey Schedules
Latchkey papers are attached in your newsletter
envelope. These are due back by Wednesday, August
23rd. We must have an accurate count for the bus
garage. They will be planning routes and have to make
sure that there is plenty of room on the bus to
accommodate the children needed.
Brandi’s Place will take care of all busing arrangements
through the school district if papers are turned in on
time.
Brandi’s Place will not assume that your child will be
attending in the fall for the school year. We must have
the latchkey packet back before adding your child’s
name to the list. This will also help us for our fall
planning for our latchkey program.
Parents will be notified as soon as we know all the
bussing information (driver, number and color).
Please see the front desk if you have any questions
regarding the latchkey program.
Hello! We are pleased to send you this
monthly issue of Brandi’s Buzz. We want to
keep you up to date with upcoming events as
well as some parenting tips, communication
and of course a little bit of humor! It is our
way saying that you are important to us and
we truly value your family. Enjoy!
Keep Smiling
And Brighten Someone’s Day!
Transportation Day
Our annual transportation day is scheduled for Wednesday, August 23rd at 9am. This event takes place out in the parking
lot. We do ask that parents bring their children by 9am if possible as the parking lot is closed for the event. If you do have
to drop off after 9am, we kindly ask that you use the side of the street to park and the sidewalk to bring your child in. If
your child’s class is outside at that time, please drop off with your child’s teacher and make sure that they know you are
dropping them off. Please do NOT leave them in the group without speaking to a teacher.
Transportation day consists of several community helpers and their vehicles. They park in the parking lot and allow the
children to learn about each item and even get in and explore the vehicle. Some of the vehicles that we have had in the
past are: Police car, ambulance, fire truck, shriner car, consumers truck, race car, bread truck, school bus, Bobcat, etc.
Each classroom goes to every vehicle and ends with a special treat – Kona Ice! There will be NO CHARGE for the Kona Ice
on this day as the Brandi’s Place covers the cost for this event.
This is a fun event for everyone!

Young 5’s Packets If your child will be attending Kindergarten during the year the 2018-2019 school year, they will be placed in our Young 5’s program this fall. This program runs from September through June with a celebration at the end of the year. Children must be 5 on or before September 1st in order to attend kindergarten. However, if your child is 5 between the dates of Sept 2nd and Dec 1st they can still attend kindergarten with a signed waiver. Children that are placed into the young 5’s classroom this fall will have a Young 5’s packet in this month’s parent newsletter. This explains everything about the program. Any child’s birthday that falls between Sept 1st and Dec 1st will need to speak with a director to make sure that they are enrolled into the right class. (Families have received a note in this packet if their child’s birthday is between these dates). Our Young 5’s program is the last step before kindergarten. This classroom mimics a kindergarten classroom. Enrolled families will automatically be placed in the classroom if the birthdays match. Please see a director if you have any further questions regarding our beginning preschool, preschool and Young 5’s programs.
